aw hell yes, bad reddit writing nosleep sucks so much, creepypasta is like 90% garbo but nosleep is especially terrible with its shameless trend chasing and shock attempts. So much is just either "I'm aping the stuff that got a lot of votes earlier" or "What if the monster was...GOOD at the end, or what if the REAL monster was a child molester????" sexpig by night fucked around with this message at 23:03 on Aug 26, 2019 |

I am irrationally upset at this person saying that they "clicked the A button" and that they "clicked on Pikachu in the menu" and and and...! I have doubts that anyone who actually used a Gameboy or GBC would use that terminology, and my immersion is totally gone. (Also, c'mon. Your Pokémon creepypasta revolves around Lavender and Pokémon Tower? Puh-lease.)

You lucky fools who never fell backwards into listening to the nosleep podcast. Only the best creepypasta* read by a nerd doing his best wise, old grandpa voice. *up for debate

I remember when it first started and he got some comments of 'hey like half the stories you pick have the same lovely generic 'and the REAL monster was the father was raping his daughter' kinda twist or just are weird gore porn in text form, a little content warning would be nice' and he got huffy and now every episode starts with a really forced 'THIS IS A MATURE PODCAST GUYS' style 'warning'. Omg i don't know whether to faint or sing along to the opening song Finished the pigsmoke rpg, some very creative work by all concerned, but that system does really lean on its setting which restricts things a bit! On to Santa's Little Helpers next, if I survive this Extra Credit reading.

Work went so much faster when I listened to the Vampire 5th Edition game all day. It's really neat that the newest series is set in Youngstown, about 20 minutes from where I grew up (and later returned).

Finished Santa's Little Helpers omg Shell Game what a terrible character you played! A little disappointed no one made a Mixalot joke about Becky tho. Terrible people played with enthusiasm A++ would be horrified again. Starting on No Country For Old Kobolds next.

No worries! I realized that growing up in Cortland (20 miles north) means that I get all the references and understand the setting, but it won't hurt as much when Youngstown is inevitably destroyed in some sort of demon-related incident. I was just barely old enough to vote when Traficant was on the ballot for the last time. He was always making ridiculous speeches and then saying, "beam me up, Scotty!". Tim Ryan took over after him as one of the youngest representatives ever elected, the same man in some of the earlier Democratic presidential debates. If you ever need a quick reference about the northern Trumbull County cities like Niles, Warren, or the Southern half of Astabula County I'm at your disposal.

I’ve listened to like twenty hours of this podcast this week while working night shifts and it’s the only thing keeping me sane after this dumpster fire of a week. If the dozerfleet and tvtropes episodes are my favorites, which ones are the best along those lines?

The Dozerfleet and TV Tropes episodes cover a lot of ground, so here's a bunch of episodes grouped by rough topic. A single person screaming into the void about their fixation The Sound Quality is Inaudible, starts off as generic audiophile grifters but shifts into high gear when Patrick82 shows up https://thefpl.us/episode/138 Heaven and Urth, new age Thermodynamic Martinets and Jar Jar Breasts, someone who has many things to say about The Phantom Menace https://thefpl.us/episode/255 poo poo that doesn't exist The State of the Micronation is Wrong, a micronation for cyborg furries https://thefpl.us/episode/69 Trash at Demonhead, a wiki for video game ideas https://thefpl.us/episode/107 Episode #799, time travel forums https://thefpl.us/episode/199 For No One's Consideration, a wiki for TV show ideas https://thefpl.us/episode/266 For A Better Slearth, the worldbuilding community on Stack Exchange https://thefpl.us/episode/280 poo poo that didn't happen Faster Pussycat! Ki! Ki!, nuh uh I can totally do a spirit bomb like Goku can https://thefpl.us/episode/13 An Otherworldly Experience, are Digimon real? Okay what about Pokemon though https://thefpl.us/episode/15 Adventures in ReTale, stories about retail customers https://thefpl.us/episode/210 I'm Twelve and I'm Not Lying, people who really have super powers, for real https://thefpl.us/episode/243 Critical nerd insufferability mass Weighted Companion Dudes, nerd dating profiles https://thefpl.us/episode/48 Cosplay to Win the Cosgame, cosplayer tales https://thefpl.us/episode/127 You May Now Fistbump the Spouse, nerd weddings https://thefpl.us/episode/129 Myers' Frigs, a reddit community for INTJs https://thefpl.us/episode/232 We Resentfully Attend, more nerd weddings https://thefpl.us/episode/267 Out of these I'd say my favorites are Adventures in ReTale, Trash at Demonhead, The Sound Quality is Inaudible, and I'm Twelve and I'm Not Lying.

Along with most of the suggestions above I would also highly recommend: • These Are A Few Of My Favorite Kinks (obsessive nerd categorization fetish crossed with…actual fetishes) • Sir Rev. Dr. Prof. John Kitchin Ph.D, Esq. (a singularly intensely weird dude and his website; part of it is my ringtone that my wife hates) • Sins of the Djinn (internet magic grifters combined with heavy doses of STDH.txt) • Icky Pedia (more obsessive nerd categorization crossed with fetishes; some of Nutshell's best riffs) • Slap 'Em Sane (another singular intensely weird dude with the website to prove it) • LIZARDS! (dumb global/interstellar conspiracy nonsense that quickly descends into STDH.txt about sexy lizard feet) • It is Always Cold in Chili's (people screaming "can I talk to your manager" into the void) Cosplay to win the Cosgame and Adventures in ReTale are also top-tier favorites of mine. Also every single WikiHow episode is golden. Really any wiki-based episode, like the one about Sonic OCs. That Old Tree fucked around with this message at 10:52 on Sep 7, 2019 |
