That's what they say about everything. They always say they want the original artist's viewpoint, and they want to respect the work itself for what the team wanted to do and not what they were forced to do but just look at how they reacted when a single transgender character was created, designed, and voiced by the original creator in that Rocko Netflix special. They'll always cry that they don't fundamentally dislike minorities, or women, or gay people, or trans characters, or whatever in their movies/cartoons/comics/games. They just don't like it when it's forced or pandering. Except to them, every single time, it's forced. Every single time, it's pandering. Why? They don't really need a reason, since the whole thing is a dishonest smokescreen in the first place, but if pressed they'd probably just rationalize that they would never put a minority in their work willingly so obviously no one else would either.

Just reminds me of the scene in Roseanne (classic, not the new garbage one) with Darlene and David working on their comic, and Darlene sees how David's drawing the characters and is just like "Get rid of those.... and those.... and that..." In my case oversexualisation often backfires. I bought God Eater 2 beause of the box art, which was a tasteful and cool image of a girl with a scythe fighting a massive grim reaper-ghost thing, I bought the game because "Holy poo poo I wanna fight that..." My "get orf my lawn!" opinion on video game tits is: If you want to play a video game, then play the god damned game! Go to the place, fight the monster, earn the coins, do the side quests, all of that stuff. Stop wanking over the pixelated tits. If you want to wank over tits, get some porn. If you want to wank over animated tits, then get some cartoon porn. If you really want to wank over pixelated tits, they make porn on computer now to satisfy your onanistic needs. Nobody cares that you like pictures of tits. Most people do. But not everything needs pictures of sexualized tits. So stop whinging when something you purport to like and enjoy for non sexual reasons doesn't have explicit sexual content.

My favorite thing though is how obviously they (and other loud idiots) are a tiny minority of the actual customer base. The company is making what sells, following the dictates of the free market, and their own numbers tell them that no matter how much noise the Persecuted Gamers make, they're still going to make more money selling their game as they designed it to a much vaster non-noisy audience. It's like people who hear a show is being cancelled so they try to circulate a petition to get them to un-cancel it, or to make a sequel to a movie they like. Dude, you think Disney or whoever doesn't have better indicators of how profitable a sequel would be than whether they got a petition signed by 2000 fans from a forum I think a big thing of it is that people really don't have any conception of the dynamics of large, population-scale numbers of people. Everything is personal.
