Third trimester they were showing up once a week, delivered a sanitized water tub and equipment to our home and were coaching us on when to call them and what not. The afternoon my wife went into labor, I called them and they were there within 20 minutes. Filled the tub out in our sun porch, got the equipment ready and into the water my wife went. 3 hours later boom a healthy baby boy. They fixed him up, fixed her up (including stitching a vaginal tear), got the nursing going, and even freaking served us a birthday cake they had brought! They continued to come to our house to check up on us each day of the first week, then twice a week, then once a week for the first three months. They did his blood typing and sent it to the state. They went with us to the county office and got him his birth certificate and later we went to the social security office and got him his SSN. We then took him to the pediatrician at 3mon, got him vaccinated and all was well... total cash out of pocket cost for all of that? $4000. We ended up having our daughter in 2015 and went through exactly the same process. Same cost. Both kids are totally normal and incredibly healthy. It makes me angry that people in your situation have to pay $10,000 out of pocket for basically administrative tasks. I think the level of care we got from the midwife group was worth far more than we were charged. Post script to that story, My wife who has a background in medical billing was able to get our insurance to actually cover the $4000 cost for the birth of our son, but by the time 2015 rolled around, the coverage we had refused so we paid cash. Still worth it though. think about the people that can't cover a $400 emergency because they have no savings. That $10k would probably bankrupt them.

Funniest goddamn thing about that tweet is that was the exact point of the article. Trump did do stuff over the summer, but his missteps totally overshadowed anything he could point to accomplishment wise. Off topic but I hope the next Presidential administration says that they have done more in "X amount of time" than any other administration in history.

Which in turn lead to 8chan being spawned from the ostracized assholes and pedophile monsters from 7chan. 8chan in turn, alongside elements of 7chan's original userbase and 4chan's incredibly racist /pol/ then eventually tried running a disinformation campaign that'd get Trump elected. Then they started to advocate for shooting minorities/other people after he was elected because what the gently caress else are you going to do when you've gotten kicked out of practically every nerdy social hub on the internet over and over again? And here we are today. And now that 8chan is effectively dead they've all moved off to zerochan (A form of chan that is effectively un-moderated and has an outright pedophilia forum which really should tell you what these people wanted in the first place) thus simultaneously completing and continuing the cycle of inspiring random internet readers to go "What the gently caress is wrong with you?" upon reading the content that little sub-culture continually puts out. Probably got a few details wrong somewhere along the line but that's basically a recap of the entire situation from what I remember from reading through the entire debacle and various individual's accounts of everything that happened. Edit: Basically, TL;DR: the Chan's have a long and storied history of being filled to the brim with creeps and there is a non-zero chance that that guy in that picture is one of them. For the most (part doing this period) 4chan was lucky to see a hundred posts in a day. Completely separate from this the culture wars in adtrw came to a head, and lolicon was banned and end all the posters who are associated with lolicon were banned in a single "Great Cleansing". This group of exiled pedo-goons relocated to 4chan and became its first real userbase. Around a year later there was a smaller secondary exodus to 4chan when goonrushing (which had evolved to an early form of internet brigading/harassment) was formally banned- this 2nd wave met yo with the remnants of the Sullon Zek Jihad (one of the earliest internet communities formed singularly around internet brigading/doxxing), and these groups became the foundation for the /invasion community (which was responsible for the bulk of the more malicious attacks launched from 4chan).
