IIRC at least one UT3 map was made completely out of Gears 1 leftovers. Probably most of the art in that game was, to be honest. It all felt a bit like unloved spare parts kicked into the corner.

Nobody's mentioned Doom 64 on Switch? Hopefully it'll wind up on other platforms. I'd like to play the actual game instead of having to resort to TCs. Not that they're bad, but because they're just not the same, y'know?

That said I think whatever was left of the original Doom64 code was used to make this new version so its as close as youll get without buying an old cartridge, N64, and CRT Tv

UT3 is one of the few games where, to me at least, is brought down almost entirely on art direction alone. I actually load it up and play it once in a while and I don't think it's a bad game at all, just horribly mismanaged. I like what they did with Warfare. Some of the maps kind of suck, but some of the others, like the one where you have to hold down a point on the map to summon a missile strike to damage the enemy core, seem actually kind of inspired.

Some people just can't stand the bunnyhopping. It's still a crap experience at any ping above LAN pings IMO, but there are diehards that just like what they like. In general I wouldn't recommend it for someone who didn't already know *exactly* why it was the only acceptable form of Quake for them. The exceptions would be: * there's some mod you love that is only supported on NetQuake, or * you can't find a nearby populated QuakeWorld server but *can* find a populated NetQuake server with crazy good ping

Finished Ion Fury. The ending looks like butt. The cutscene static images look like fanart, which is a shame because the Main Menu background is so bad-rear end with its thoughtful callback to Wolf3D .
