I have stopped smoking marijuana which has, made losing weight so easy that I dont have to think about it. Its amazing how much effect not eating garbage in a stoned haze every night does

Thanks man, i do find snacking to be an non issue though, its been 2 weeks since ive had a smoke and I've found it so easy to slip into this routine of breakfast > lunch > dinner and nothing in between. I'm a short guy as well at 5'5 so it just seems better to have 3 fairly small meals, my body just feels good from having less food go through it. Its definitely a case of only knocking off 0.1% every day but enough days like that in a row and it works.

So here's where I'm at as of now. I stopped drinking in November, and started working in a more physical job in March. I'm really pleased with the progress I'm making, and although there's still a fair amount of chonk to get rid of I've lost 4 inches from my waist so far, and gone from XXL to L shirts. Here's what I looked like when I started:

Dumped all my alcohol down the drain 3 days ago. Noticed my face isn’t so bloated anymore. I’m 100% sure I will see more weight loss now. I also am trying to get rid of any bread intake. Does that vegetable type spaghetti help with weight loss?

Im adamant in my belief that carbs are the devil incarnate, so i will support any choice of NOT consuming them. Like bread. I recently discovered DIY protein bread, which is 5carbs/100g and is basically the best thing since tummyrubs. Other than that, ditch bread, rice, sweets, sugar, alcohol, soft drinks, pasta in all forms and as long as you dont overdo it on calories in return, i guarantee you will lose fat. As far as i read and heard, carbs also help store water in fat cells, so less carbs means less water stored, which in turn means less bloat. As an example, when i go on a 3-day fast, i lose 3-4 kilos. This is water, maaaaybe 1 kilo of fat but mostly water. This is confirmed in the fact that i can regain those 3-4 kilos in almost 1.5 days which can-not be pure fat. In short, gently caress carbs, go fat+protein, do weight training. But also good loving job so far. e: I also had great results with cutting out in-between snacking, leading to intermitted fasting (6 hour food intake window) ultimately going for OMAD. Not for everyone and i dont say everyone should do it, but i will say that its worth a try and you can only condemn something if you have tried it at least once. Like buttsex. Thanks for the advice. I can say that looking in the mirror I don’t see the fat jowls I was seeing before. I did read that since alcohol dehydrates it can swell you up. I can attest that giving up alcohol has made my face thinner.

When i decided i was fed up (excuse me) with being fat some 6 years ago, it was the current weight loss thread on these boards that gave me a helpful guideline: desired weight in kilos x 20 = calories Since i figured i should be around 80 kilo i cut down to 1600 calories and started a disciplined workout. I shed weight like a camel. Before, i tried eating less, which was kinda without results, then i started working out, which also didnt yield remarkable results. Then i did both and magically i got into shape. Its stupidly easy if you just do it right, i was angry at me for how long i just did it wrong. I havent hit a gym in my life, i just read convict conditioning and followed the veterano program combined with 1600 calories a day and no carbs. 10-15 minutes of training, at home, each day, and not eating poo poo is all it took. If you think about it, you can totally absolutely destroy yourself in 10 minutes flat, no need for 2 hour sessions in stunk up rooms full of sweaty chuds. A clean pushup takes 4 seconds, thats 15 a minute, 150 in 10 minutes if you dont break down before that. And thats the workout for this particular day. If 150 pushups in a single sitting dont kill you, you dont need any workout advice. And the same goes for squats, pullups, leg raises, you name it. In my youth, i was usually the fattest kid in class, up to finishing high school. Now I am close to 40 and in the shape of my life.

Alcohol is sugar, thats really all you need to know. Sugar helps fat store water. You would be amazed how much piss you can produce when you dont eat for two days. Thats all the surplus water your body stored. Why do you think body builders cut their water intake to 1 glass before the competition? Excess water shows, much of what you think is fat might in fact be water.

gym pros: you can watch free tv but you have to run on the treadmill so they dont kick you out (con??). If someone w/ no willpower runs beside you you can change your tv to food network sometimes. You can tell your friends ya i got a gym membership without telling them how often you go. you can be super fat and ppl will respect you for going even if you suck at it big time

So I started taking trazodone at night to help me sleep and I find myself getting by with a lot less food during the day for breakfast and lunch. I'm wondering if it is decreasing my anxiety so I don't get as freaked out if I start to feel hungry/shaky? Or maybe getting better sleep makes me not need as much food for energy. I dunno but I hope this helps me lose weight. I have at least maintained where I am without gaining for quite a while but I am heavier than I should be. I hate being short. I have to eat like 1300 a day to really lose weight. And then I have to maintain that or I gain it back. It's a loving drag. I wish I could eat like 2000 calories and maintain a healthy weight but nope! My ideal weight is like 130 lbs or something. I'm jealous of the tall people. Plus I can't reach things so gently caress y'all!!

Went from 176 to 166 all from not drinking anymore. I also have a 13 year old that I think likes someone at school so he bags me until I take him to the gym to work out at night. So now I’m working out at 9:30pm at night. I feel so much better and my face isn’t swollen anymore.

I started doing low carb again. I've lost about 5 lbs in a few weeks on it. Going home for Thanksgiving so hopefully I will keep it up. I might eat a carb just for that day but it's the rest of the time I'll be home that I'm more concerned about.

main trick w/ losing weight is not to go on some crazy diet where you're miserable because you're limited to grapes and lentils. just cut out processed foods, and make sure you don't eat 7k calories a day

I like my approach to weight loss, track your calories for a few weeks (be honest and include everything, overestimate slightly if you have to, the important thing is to get a baseline to adjust) and then start cutting down slowly until you reach your goal weight. Using this approach, I still eat some goony poo poo but I've lost a little over 80lbs since late February. Also if you wanna keep getting hammered, switch from beers to vodka and mix it with something low-calorie My diet is very carb-heavy because carb-heavy foods are generally the most efficient from a cost:calorie perspective and everyone I know assumes I've been doing some stupid complicated diet when really I just figured out how much I was stuffing into my gaping maw and stuffed it slightly less. This has the side benefit of not having to discuss weight loss with people because as soon as someone hears "just track your calories and reduce your intake by x%" their brain shuts down and they go back to eating bacon wrapped crisco

My Spirit Otter posted:main trick w/ losing weight is not to go on some crazy diet where you're miserable because you're limited to grapes and lentils. Well as I mentioned before, being 5'3" I have to eat like 1300-1500 calories to really lose weight. Low carb works to get me closer to that by not loading up on carbs. Plus a lot of the processed foods I tend to overeat on are carby. I also notice I drink more water and feel more thirsty because I'm not retaining so much water. Which is good because I'm bad to not drink much water which probably gets me eating more. If you fill up on water you're not as hungry. I don't really think low carb is that restrictive if you do it right (not just meat and cheese), and sometimes get creative. I just made a low carb version of something my mom used to make for example, orange ginger flavored bacon wrapped water chestnuts and chicken. Just had to switch to sugar free versions of the marinade ingredients. I guess the water chestnuts aren't low carb but I just didn't eat too many. Turned out good, my boyfriend ate a ton of them and he doesn't usually like sugar free. So you just have to get a little creative. And have backup food in case it goes wrong lol Edit here's the low carb thread in ylls if y'all wanna learn more about low carb, they put it better than I ever will: https://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3891895&pagenumber=1&perpage=40 Dixville fucked around with this message at 18:51 on Nov 2, 2019 |

Low carb poo poo is a culinary travesty. Eggs with no toast? Steak with no potato? Curry with no rice? Pasta with no noodles? Sandwich with no bread? That's how wild animals eat, not civilized humans.

Sorry about your uncle though Edit not joking or whatever that sucks. But some people die from complications of diabetes, or from a heart attack, high blood pressure or any number of other health issues eating a diet with carbs. So you can't really say that's necessarily healthy either. I don't have all the answers but I need to lose weight. I'm on a bad path getting borderline high blood pressure myself at this point Dixville fucked around with this message at 19:55 on Nov 2, 2019 |
