I think it's a really great take on the Joker too, and one which keeps enough of the basic structure of the Harley/Joker dynamic to be recognizable, while dropping a lot of the ugly chaff. In particular, in relation to the upcoming movie Joker, I think the character works much better as a figure of privileged boredom and anomie than as an underdog, it feels like a much more timely and honest approach to how violence works in 2019.

Despite that awesome cast I am more excited that they are using the Ostrander era Suicide Squad logo. I really hated that neon trash logo that both DC and Warner have been using lately.

I'm less ambivalent about the movie, which will probably be kinda cool, than I am about the awkwardly-forced comics crossovers that'll happen because of this. SEE!: Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn, two characters who have absolutely nothing to do with each other, become the best of friends because Harley is the only other woman within shouting distance! As someone that thought Aquaman had some neat ideas and actually quite liked Shazam - look, it's nice to have a superhero movie actually be about teenagers for a change nowadays - I'm cautiously optimistic. DCEU is getting better.
