less shitposty answer there actually is a decent case to be made that the more outrageous child abuse cases actually happened but its based largely on medical examinations and statements made by the children shortly after the abuse occurred focusing on dumb poo poo like satanic rituals and false memories was something the media did because they were popular fads at the time anything that an adult claims to have unearthed decades after the fact is incredibly suspect and can usually be disproven but most cases arent anything like that
