Just closed on my house today. I knew that underneath the fake brick veneer in the kitchen was old wallpaper...i removed an old phone jack while there and...uhh... It's something, all right:

Got that sweet Oregon Trail aesthetic.

Honestly, I'm genuinely surprised how perfect the cut out for the phone jack is around the Chuck wagon.

I love the commitment to the theme in that angle house.

On a related note, I'm not sure how I feel about this take on wood siding.

It's like they tried the modern barnwood thing and ended up with a hardwood floor on the wall that gives the residents vertigo.

A house I viewed years ago was described by the agent as "having been painted and tidied up for the sale"

They'd painted the bedroom wall up to the edge of the pile of garbage bags. In purple.
