Look at the raven's body language. That bird adores him.

This bird has been singing the same song in the park across from my apartment for as long as I've lived here, going on two years now. He recently changed the song up a little, adding a different verse so I decided to head over to his tree to get a video. You can kind of tell he's switching between his old song and his new song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QvWNDI2Pg_g Sadly I've yet to be able to actually see him, despite hearing him on a daily basis and I'm not a bird expert so I'm not even sure what kind of bird he is! I love him to bits though, so talented. e: You can hear his new verse clearly at about 20 seconds in and he gets back into his old rhythm at about 52 seconds. You can't see him because that is clearly a tiny organ grinder tuning his pipes, not a bird. https://youtu.be/FveYoK0Y9Eo I always loved listening to the mockingbirds in Tennessee working on perfecting their car alarm songs. They'd stop in the middle and kind of stutter a bit, then pick back up with the alarm. From the cute thread, baby owl hears thunder for the first time. So I've actually posted a picture of a birb. Can Quaker parrots have red crowns? There's a pair of small parrot looking things that I've now irritated twice by walking under the tree they've been perched on on my way to the bus stop after work. I know Austin has a feral Quaker parrot population and I know what those look like. And I've also seen some sort of blue budgie flock. But these have red crowns. Also their grumbling when I've walked under them doesn't sound like the same sound I've heard from Quaker parrots. Google pulls up green cheeked Amazon parrots, which are much larger than the pair I annoyed.

As far as I'm aware Quakers can only be green, blue or yellow.

This reminds me of a cockatiel I had growing up. He was great at mimicking whistles, bird calls, etc. After we encouraged his talent enough, he'd spend hours composing his own works. A few notes from the national anthem followed by the phone, some native bird calls, and ending with a wolf whistle. Birds are good.

The city trimmed the trees along that sidewalk, though, so I didn't get the chance to listen to the birds grumble at me as I walked under them on Friday. I had my camera open and zoomed, but they weren't there. One flew over the road, though and had a peach belly. After googling for hours, I still can't figure out what they are. I did notice, with the branches trimmed, that there appeared to be an old nest up in the tree, so maybe there will be more mystery conures in austin shortly. I read that a lot of parrots don't make their own nests, so I'm thinking that's why they were hanging out there. Here's a birb https://youtu.be/lscEbK_PUaY

Sir, I represent the estate of Jimmy Durante, and I have a court order demanding an immediate halt to this unauthorized imitation. Finally got one of these little bastards: This fellow was pretty chill. And this one let me get right up close.
