Cut one and the tower will collapse in the direction between the two remaining wires. (as they're still loaded.) No need to do anything more than cut one wire to bring it crashing down.

I'm no expert on antenna demolition, but "slap a can of thermite on that and run the gently caress away" would definitely be my preferred option. Though maybe that just flings burning thermite everywhere when the wire breaks free.

The last bit of it still fell directly towards them as things collapsed and something very easily could have flown in their direction.

Cthulu Carl posted:I mean more from the "Large chunk of metal flies off suddenly while worker is inches from it". Oh right. Yeah, i'm sure the same end result can be acheived with the people controlling the demolition much further away. Like others said, explosives, thermite, etc. Want something even more risky, with people getting real up close and personal to dangerous poo poo? Meet Fred Dibnah! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhpMiKds8lc&t=255s Everything he did belongs in this thread. The guy was amazing.

Here's a series of bomb disposal training films from 1973 starring Mickey Rooney and produced by the Miami-Dade Police Department Bomb Squad: Bombs I, II, and III. Warning: A few grainy pictures of gore. "An explosion is the sudden going of one place to someplace else." Try your luck defusing some bombs in III.
