I still think a 4 color (gently caress red) deck focused around food, Smothering Tithe, Emergency Powers, and Tezzy has potential

Bounce with new fairy, ezpz.

Edit: the more I think about it, the better the fairy gets. 2 of them jams up so much tempo on such a good clock, I can see how they made it mythic

Funny enough, I think this will be heavily used in standard in multicolor decks in standard.

Agreed. Would have been cooler if they let you fetch any land and then they could've bumped the untap condition to 5 lands or something.

Well they could add more drawbacks if that's still too good. But only being about to search up basics just makes this feel boring.

Like maybe they could keep the card as is, but just add an extra ability to it like 2, T: Sac and fetch a nonbasic instead.

Fats Dominar is on the case

I’m brewing around the idea of 4 spectral sailor, 4 order of midnight, 4 murderous rider, 4 brazen borrower, 4 hypnotic sprite, 2 rankle, and maybe some drown in the loch. Add 4 Thief of Sanity, 4 Thought Erasure, some mixture of Tyrant’s Scorn, Disfigure and Legion’s End, and 22 lands. The idea isn’t to win a long game, it’s to answer everything your opponent does and beat him to death with 2 and 3 power dudes. The fact that you have four bounce spells, four counterspells and four kill spells that all draw you a card makes the deck amazing at curving out. Also Teferi is incredibly bad against the deck; bouncing an adventure creature feels so, so bad.

You could use it to fetch the other fetches out of your deck, get 5 landfall triggers and thin like hell. Also populate your graveyard. It'd be insane.

Guys, I fixed my hypothetical card.

T: Sac and search your library for any land and put it into the battlefield. You lose the game at the end of the turn.

There, I have now sufficiently balanced against fetching a nonbasic.

Nah, the fact that Marit Lage doesn't have haste means you'd need another card to combo, so I think it's still barely fair.

Cantripping pongify is interesting, yeah. It does concern me that it's a removal spell that still leaves it as a threat but I think cantrip potentially gets it there, especially in green

Worth noting that unlike pongify, you can play this one postcombat after the creature already has 3 damage on it for a clean kill.

The fact that the deliberately overnerfed card you designed to prove a point still ended up being broken really says it all.

There's a reason fetching nonbasics isn't easy.

Well I'd say it's a hell of a lot better than the thousandth variation on fight for green removal. And it fits that classic card game cliche, it can be used offensively or defensively. :discourse:
