They're probably thinking of Amon Goeth. I don't think Schindler was any more racist than a central European businessman of his era - indeed, less so, given all.

Nobody ever tells the story of Goering's brother, though, who used his position of family influence to... piss on the Nazi war machine pretty much full time while saying to any fascist who asked, "Oh did you have a problem with what I did? Would you like to take it up with my brother?"

As for the Deadlands guy, I imagine he was always thinking of some "Guns of the South" nonsense being possible. Never mind that even in that book, the reason the CSA turns away from slavery at all is that their time-travelling South African colleagues insist on pushing the envelope to the point of trying to assassinate their second president, and the Confederates find a giant library of future books which can be summarized as: "The Confederacy: What A Bunch Of Racist Assholes."

Spirit of 77 has the best politics, which is “you’re in the 70s, so your character cannot be a cop. You can be any other job, but the closest you can come to a cop is a former cop who quit because of all the corruption.” It also explicitly calls out hateful behavior being justified by “it’s accurate to the time!” As a crock of poo poo.

If you play a man, are you required to have:
A) a porn stache
B) an afro
C) a combination of both, and maybe some sideburns for good measure

Because, if so, I will be purchasing this game.

Chest hair is, of course, a given.

No, but it is recommended. Also, this is a goon created game.

I'm surprised nobody's talking about Fandom (D&D Beyond) buying Cortex Plus/Prime from Margaret Weis Productions and making it their house system. And hiring Cam Banks. That seems noteworthy.

Personally I'm wondering what that means for Margaret Weiss productions now that they don't have a house system, or a product line (since they're pulling everything from shelves).

My understanding is that MWP has been out of the role-playing game (as in industry) ever since they licensed Cortex to Banks.

It’s mildly annoying since it means yet another delay in a project that has gone on 3x as long as it was supposed to. Besides that as a backer I assume I’m the target audience but have no interest in this, I’m not really sure who it’s for really.

It was brought up elsewhere that maybe this will lead to faster turnaround? Given that the rules are done and all that's needed is layout and editing, are we confident that Cam was going to do it faster by himself than with a company's resources behind him? I'm somewhere between indifferent and optimistic-driven-by-curiosity. Did not back.

It was supposed to take 8 months for the PDFs, it’s now been 29 months. How much longer was it going to take before this happened? The project isn’t at Far West levels, but I don’t believe anything Cam says anymore.

Sorry, not brought up by Cam. Someone pointed out that Cam has taken his sweet time, and who knows how long it would have taken by himself, and that Fandom's desire for an in-house system may speed things up relative to now.

Zak Has Nothing To Do With This Book posted:

He really doesn't.

This is an adventure based roughly around the format of the Tarentino movie The Hateful Eight, where a group of people in an isolated environment are about to come to blows... when the player characters then come in to either settle situation down (fat chance) or make it much, much worse because there are factors at play that nobody present knows about.

Your standard LotFP mind-melt.

Note: the PDF version does not include the editorial present in the print version. I'll just say the title is inspired by certain people in the RPG industry thinking I was going to publish certain people under assumed names in order to skirt controversy. Other than the title, this product has no relation to real life events or drama.

Writing actually by James Edward Raggi IV, art by Jez Gordon,

I guess I'm sure a few people thought he'd try to sneak Zak into his products, maybe even without saying it just as a joke, but honestly this would be a lot less of a thing if Raggi would just shut the gently caress up about how sad he is he can't platform a rapist abuser.

I mean I hinted at this earlier but it's kind of a big safety issue given that you have Bill Webb potentially being babysat by someone who thinks rape isn't worth banning someone from a convention.

Really even if it somehow turned out that the Grand SA Conspiracy were real and destroyed Zak because he was Too Cool, Raggi would remain a pathetic lovely coward who no one should look to for any scrap of moral guidance. Because he has made it clear the only reason he (sort of) cut ties is because it was too unpopular not to do so. Just like "apologizing" for his Facebook post about meeting Jordan Peterson. He'll crow about unapologetic free speech, right up until it's possible some of his audience disagree with him on meaningful topics, because the only backbone he has is built out of his rock solid fans who are only here for titties covered in blood.

They had that book at Gencon and doubled over themselves to distance themselves from Zak when asked about him there. My buddy overheard some guy at their booth ask where Zak was and the guy there loudly claimed they hadn't heard or tried to contact him in 6 months and didn't know where he was. They're just that awkward and dumb about stuff as you'd expect guys who put out a book with vaginas in the title. I guess they also couldn't do without the money for that title either since they put it on Drivethru instead of letting die.

And on top of that they were also selling it next to a book Zak did write.

I went to see if I could find where in this thread Raggi's "editorializing" was shared but I didn't see anything. I'm going to assume it was more of the same "cancel cuturrrrre" crap he was hiding behind in the blog post cancelling Zak.

The Tipper Gore-led congressional hearings were in 1985. 34 years ago.

Also in 1985: New Coke, the debut of the NES, Live Aid, Michael Jordan's rookie year.

Zak S making GBS threads his pants is a funny joke and far be it from me to dissuade its perpetuation, but being placed alongside the sexual assault makes me somewhat uncomfortable. It feels like doing so kind of trivializes the latter, if you understand me. Call him a pants-shitter, or an alleged rapist and abuser, or even both, but maybe not both in the same breath?

I dunno. I don't get to make the thread rules, but it just seems like it's in bad taste.

There's probably a risk of running the joke (or is it a joke??????????) into the ground alongside the more pertinent allegations, though I don't think anybody who's posting in the SA Traditional Games Industry thread is unaware of or at risk of forgetting what a vile excuse for a human being Zak S is.
