This is set is really good for my playstyle. I could be pretty happy playing with cards only from this set for a while, to be honest (but I won't be doing that).

LifeLynx posted:The "Syr" thing is just a Game of Thrones. I think the non-gendered thing is good, but it probably happened as a result of wanting to capture Game of Thrones hype, which was still very popular and loved when the set was being developed. You can even see it in the names of the legendary Knights, which also follow the Game of Thones convention of "real name, but ~fantasy~". There's even a character named Ayara which is about as close but legally distinct you can get to Arya. ...huh, this makes a lot of sense and probably isn’t something they’d mention outright while still marketing the set. “We wanted to draw on something which people soured on before our set released” would indeed be a dicey position to be in.

Remember that the set started purely as aurthurian myth with no fairy tales. Its very likely that there were even more game of thrones influences before the fairy tales took over. Also its called Throne of Eldraine

I have no idea what this set is going to play like in Limited beyond the occasional draft where someone gets every single good Knight and wrecks poo poo.

Is anyone else bothered that the flavour text for Bartered Cow says uses mooing as a verb when moo is the sound but lowing is the action? No? Ok then.

Huh, so that one art Seb did when they were teasing the set didn't get used on a card. Interesting. I wonder if it's going to be used later in some other set.

Do you mean the one here? He said that was just a promo piece. He's done a ton of cards in sets this year (18, if I'm counting right), so he might have just been taking a break.

Andrast posted:I'm not a native English speaker so that definitely didn't cross my mind before Well, when I assume... It's just the old word for sir, but it also means father. Usually the context in contemporary English is horse and cattle breeding, but it just means father. I think women who have a higher rank in the US military are addressed as, "Sir," by lower ranking members.

A shame that he didn't do much in this set because it's so much his style, but totally understandable. Dude's been cranking out art like crazy this year and all of it is great. He deserves a break.

Related artist taking a break news: you might not know Carmen Sinek, as she's only illustrated four cards before ELD, but she's not going to be doing much more art for a while. A brain tumor knocked the art out of her, and she forgot ten years of How to Draw. Pretty scary stuff. https://twitter.com/CarmenSinek/status/1174852941628358656

Lol. I have to believe pod drafts are their highest requested feature, maybe on par with additional platforms. The fact they won't commit to it speaks volumes.
