I don't understand why I can't harass people online. Seriously, somebody please explain why I shouldn't be allowed to stalk others on social media!
I have no idea what you'd need a Digg client for (and I legit thought that site went the way of like Geocities and disappeared from the internet already) but apparently you can follow the Digg feed in Apple News.

I'd like to delete my Audible app but keep the books somewhere, either just stored in my Dropbox/iCloud or put into Apple Books or Overcast it doesn't matter. It looks like I can download those books in Safari but they are aax files. Is there a way to turn that into mp3/mp4/whatever, preferably preserving chapter info, on the iPad or iPhone itself? I know I can do it on a Mac, but if possible I'd like to do it on my phone/iPad.

Secondly, I wouldn't have expected that anything owned by an internet advertising company would maintain an app. Ads are less efficient through apps.

God damn it, you've got to be kind.
This is my opportunity to admit that I don't know what Digg is. I remember seeing the name all over the place but I never knew what it was. I'm guessing an early news aggregator?

Originally it was basically what reddit is, with the upvote/downvote links poo poo. But it got completely obliterated by reddit and turned into a generic aggregator.

Now it's 90% sponsored content and clickbait. Basically what Buzzfeed is, but without the sense of humor.

Do they still operate their lovely Feed Reader that was supposed to blow up when Google shitcanned Reader?

Edit: Nevermind, I Googled my own answer.

Nah I’m pretty sure apps are preferred. With apps they can literally track every mundane detail like which parts of the screen you scroll with or how often you use the app and for how long. Or if it’s an app that has geolocation permissions then it could get your location and see if there are other people using the app near you often and make a good guess as to how you’re related and other creepier stuff.

It wasn’t just obliterated by reddit. They killed themselves when they did a giant overhaul of their site that was universally reviled, causing a huge exodus to reddit. Digg never recovered from it.

That article did a better job of explaining what feedly actually gives you than the website itself.

Twice companies have driven up large dump trucks full of cash to buy Digg. First for 80 million and later for 200 million. It was finally sold for $500k which has to be some kind of devaluation record. Even Tumblr didn't lose that much value as a percentage.

Also our dead gay forum has probably the best mobile app thank you very much.

That works amazingly given that it’s completely unofficial and doesn’t have any true access to the site. Lowtax then going gung ho with an effort to do a mobile version within the vbulletin code always seemed a baffling decision. Does that even work anymore? Hell, did it ever? I’m sure I remember you had to toggle an option within your user panel to tell it whether you were on your phone or not.

I tried it a few times and it was unusable. I don’t know if was ever a serious effort.

If you already paid then they said you’ll have lifetime premium - at first it was 3 years but people complained and they backtracked. New people pay :10bux: per year

If you paid for the web player you get lifetime premium--the free smartphone app retains all the features of the paid app, so if you just paid for that nothing changes.

One other thing that Pocket Casts just introduced, and I think you can subscribe to Overcast for, is you can upload your own audio files and have them sync and listen between devices.

I tried to buy the 99p subscriptions thinking it would tell me the content has already been paid for, but I have been charged.
