They should have released a patch with two options - Less Screaming and More Screaming. Or get the VAs to record a few "Aaargh stop setting me on fire I'm trying to taunt you" lines.

I mean, if you're a successful actress and you go out of the house in a skirt and without underwear, knowing that paparazzi are just waiting for opportunities like this and that it has happened many times before, then there's really nobody you can blame for it but yourself.
That is actually exactly the kind of joke this series tends to just love, so I'm honestly kind of surprised now that they didn't.

I'm pretty sure that wasn't a glitch, and they just had deeply uncomfortable voice samples for this teenage girl.

I really liked Gaige mechanically but those screams ensured that I almost never actually played her.

I'm making the bold assumption that he's aiming for the game character porn community with a lot of his character design decisions / advice these days.

I mean there was that whole USB stick incident

https://arstechnica-com.cdn.ampproj...awsuit-alleges/

quote:

one portion of the suit makes two sensational accusations about Pitchford's behavior: that he accidentally left a selection of "underage" pornography on a USB stick at a restaurant, and that he used his company's money to host parties where "adult men have reportedly exposed themselves to minors, to the amusement of Pitchford."

quote:

Pitchford talks at length about porn that he enjoys watching, including "camgirl" pornography, in which a host exposes themself to a live feed and takes requests and financial tips from consumers. Pitchford explained that he was "a consumer of this content." He confirmed that he copied a specific video "to this memory stick" to, as he describes it, "work out the method" of how a camgirl host faked the act of female ejaculation. (Be warned: he describes how the video looks in particularly graphic detail.)

"I realized, this is not a sex worker," Pitchford said on the show. "This is a loving magician." Pitchford, for those unaware, has a vested interest in the field of magicians and owns the magic-focused Genii Magazine.

Yes.
Chivalry: Medieval Warfare had, for a time, a bug where characters who died of burn damage would just keep screaming even after dying, all the way until their corpse despawned.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-mhD_NzqvU

It was a sad day when it was patched out.

EDIT: Oh yeah, this is more like a side effect than a glitch, but the game had a mod for low gravity mode, and floating around would trigger the characters' falling-to-death screams, so uh

Honestly Gaige's VA is all sorts of messed up since they accidentally used lines from two different VAs. It could literally just be a case of direction going "okay we need a bunch of screams that sound like you're on fire" in the notes and the VA taking it a little bit too seriously compared to everyone else. Add in a lack of proper volume leveling because they rushed out Gaige as the first DLC character and that'd just about do it.

Not that I'd give Gearbox or Randy the benefit of the doubt, after all they did retcon her age from 16 to 18 at the last minute once they realized they have an NPC in the game that sometimes propositions the player character. Yeah actually now that I think about it I totally believe it was on purpose

What would happen is if you used a biotic power that would ragdoll the enemy and they got pushed to a non-walkable area, the game wouldn't be able to figure out how to make them recover so they were just kind of falling forever.

There was an audio glitch in Destiny 2 where a weapon named One Thousand Voices would sometimes make a painfully loud burst of static when fired. They fixed it and recorded it like this in the patch notes:

The community is a mixed bag, but nowhere near as bad the media seem to make it out. Atleast not on european servers. The devs on their part are not garbage at all, they are working their asses off and regularly coming out with fixes and new content.

This kind of thing is always fun to discover, because like, from a game dev perspective it does usually make sense to just have your fancy UIs like this literally exist in world space somewhere, but if you aren't careful about boxing it off you might have other parts of the game suddenly "intrude".

I first learned about this when I was playing around with noclip in Unreal Tournament and discovered that the skybox was literally an isolated room on the map, and if you flew into it and looked back at the main map area you'd suddenly see your own character's rear end projected into the sky 10,000 miles wide.

Back when the left4dead 360 demo launched some players managed to do something like this and it looked like the zombie horde managed to bring Biker Godzilla with it

I was playing TF2 on a server with a roulette mod installed. You could type something in chat to spin a wheel and get a temporary effect that could help you or screw you over

On my first spin I got ten seconds of noclip, which I used to steal the intelligence and drop it in the skybox.

For reference, I'm playing on a GameCube from like, 2001ish through an Eon GCHD Mk II in 480p. It looks identical when I boot in 480i as well. It also does not exhibit this behavior when I boot it up on a Wii.
