Lemon-Lime posted:Was it any better than season 2 at actually engaging with the ending to s01? the most compelling thing about the psycho pass franchise is how it chooses to maintain the status quo instead of the expected heroes overthrowing the corrupt system, which is about the most culturally japanese direction the plot could take

The movie was by Urobuchi, and was OK, so if he's back for this one, we might have some decent TV again.

urobuchi seems way overrated. i liked the original madoka series but he's mostly worked on really mediocre shows (this includes psycho pass). i know he's just the writer mainly but still. i get the feeling he's more known for the porn games he worked on but those don't count (and i aint playing those)

He's either bad at or very unlucky with collaborative works. He also did good work on Thunderbolt Fantasy recently.

The lads responsible for Psycho Pass Phase 3 (the movies and the new season) are responsible for such luminary works as the Berserk novel about Grunbeldt, and Special Ops Magical Girl Asuka, sooooo looking kinda dubious Meanwhile there's a new trailer for the second Thunderbolt Fantasy movie and the only way it could be better is if it introduced a puppet voiced by Yoshiki Fukuyama so that he and TM Revolution could have a battle of the kung fu puppet bands.

Does that make Gui Niao the GM PC who railroads the party through the campaign and then defeats the main villain himself?

I assume he's the veteran guy with way way more system mastery than everyone else so he plays a joke character.

I spent most of the time during the first season going from "Oh this is anime wuxia!" to "Oh this is a DND campaign!" to "Oh this is lupin the third!" finally back to "Oh this is anime wuxia!" during the end.

Whoever was complaining about Danmachi, you're out of luck, as it's getting a third season to build Bell an even bigger and more annoying harem I guess. https://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-n...r_facebook_news

danmachi s3 announcement just makes me feel ambivalent, like ofc the back of s2 was just awful in a bunch of unexpected ways but in general the production was just not on the same level as s1. s3 could deliver a more solid segment of the series but without any assurance that either the story or production will be on the same level as s1 i just don't have my blind enthusiasm anymore
