I grew up in Baltimore and spent my summers in Ocean City, Md so we always had something crab related in the house. There wasn't a summer where I had not punctured my foot on the tail of a horseshoe crab. I have had various hermit crabs when I was a kid. I remember one night my mother getting up to go to the bathroom and screaming because we had a tarantula in the house, turns out one of my hermit crabs was in search of a shell and had dumped the one it had and escaped its cage to find a new one.

Except, that is, from crabs and shrimps with missing limbs and swollen claws, bloated by tumors and coated in parasites.

Here we are trying to get this thread to new heights by climbing out of the shitpost bucket only to find posters trying to pull us back down. Great crab bucket mentality. A+ effort, good job

I've been having fun lately playing with a toy plankton net, which is way cheaper than any sort of "professional" plankton net. It has a wider mesh than most you'd normally use at 333 microns, but who cares about phytoplankton anyway? Gets tons of copepods, and more importantly, crab larvae. I don't have any good pictures, I'm afraid, but I can say that they're adorably grumpy and pinchy even when they're just a couple millimeters long.
