Yeah, I mean it's pretty loving gross that he's basically saying exactly that. The irony too is that he was probably correct in the sense of "my 7 figure do-nothing salary at Fox" won't be there if I rock the boat too much against Trump.

If it's one thing the Trump administration has ripped wide open is exposing the mass groupthink involved in securing the grift bag.

CNN's social media marketers are even worse than their writers if their goal is to get some people on SA to talk about how bad their articles are.

The thing about being a badass in your current role is that you need to consider yourself a badass for past experiences and demand respect and reputation at your current job based only on those past experiences. Also, a rule of being badass is that you need to constantly reaffirm that others think that you're a badass because you're insecure a total badass, of course! :v:

Anyone who says things in this vein, I'd recommend the Dollop podcast episodes on Trump. They go through his entire life and the overarching theme is that he's never faced an appropriate consequence for any of his actions. Ever.

This is like the episode of Letterkenny where Wayne has to reclaim his title of toughest guy in town, so people keep coming up to his driveway to challenge him to fistfights except instead of showing up to the Squad's driveways, they have someone else making the claim, and they would run away if actually confronted on it.

You seem to be operating from the position that CNN is working a giant brain genius operation to cynically farm clicks, instead of this just being exactly what it looks like on its surface: the mainstream media manufacturing pushback against and minimization of nonwhite politicians.

And if there's anything the Trump era has taught me, it's that everything is exactly what it looks like.

If you don't think that online news is anything other than massive click farming for profit, I don't even know where to begin to inform you.

They spam out hundreds of stories many of which are not even entirely stories trying to find a nerve to hit so that they can generate interest whether good or bad in order to get page views in order to get advertisers in order to get money.

I think there's a large (and easily discerned) difference between You Won't BELIEVE What This Congressional Politician Has To Say About Impeachment type articles purposed for maximum ad impressions, and that article we've been discussing which is a fawning puff piece and giant dog whistle for how these white women are more reasonable, more effective, and easier to work with than these darn loudmouths.

Conflating the two is shallow cynicism employed to avoid serious engagement with the state of our national discourse.
