Someone should do the math on how much water it would take to build a trench across the border and keep it filled year-round. The Rio Grande runs dry for stretches and that entire area suffers from water shortages due to how much water gets diverted for farming and human consumption. You’d also have to probably have alligator breeding facilities and disposal sites to replace all of the dead alligators.
