Pretty sure they already did that before, since they have an old as gently caress Golf IIRC.

edit : yep on wikipedia they have '10' of them

Golfs were very early diesel 3 tube ballistic missile boats.

A recession is inevitable. The scary part is that it may well be Trump's administration turning a relatively minor dip due to the trade war with China into a full blown depression via being entirely incapable of listening to expert.advice and making policy with a view longer than a Tweet.

I can give anyone some useful life advice, never, ever, work for some startup in silicon valley. They're all insane, I did it contracting from the UK for 2 years and jesus, you can feel palpably how the entire system is going to implode. I'm now happily designing actual physical things with a company that isn't going to evaporate 5 seconds after I stop paying attention.

And if you do work for a tech startup, never give up cash pay for stock options. Basically treat them as bonuses paid in lottery tickets.

Well, the loan offer will be calculated against the value of the house, which is presumably inflated right now. That doesn't mean you take all of it of course, but a) the interest rate on it is probably gonna be real competitive and b) a reduction in the value of your house might cause the bank to get weird about collateral, if your mortgage is still more than what the house gets devalued to.

If you plan on selling it's best to do it as fast as you can, I guess.

Hey so uh that economy thing is looking a little banged up:

quote:

Stocks tumbled for a second day on Wednesday, as investors faced new evidence that global growth is under threat.

The two day drop has ended what had been a relatively calm stretch of trading on Wall Street.

The S&P 500 dropped more than one percent in early trading Wednesday, adding to a similar sized decline the day before. The selling this week began after a key measure of manufacturing activity showed that factory output in the United States had slowed to levels last seen at the end of the financial crisis a decade ago.

Also on Tuesday, the World Trade Organization cut its forecast for growth in trade. World trade in merchandise is expected to expand just 1.2 percent this year, in the weakest year since the heat of the financial crisis in 2009.

And on Wednesday, a private report on hiring in the United States was slightly slower than economists had forecast. The report, released by ADP, is a precursor to the monthly jobs report from the Labor Department, though it is not necessarily indicative of what the official data will show.

We've been barreling towards a recession for a while now, and it's here. Manufacturing and agriculture have already been in a recession for multiple quarters now. Housing prices are stagnant and falling. Cutting rates again is going to do nothing to stave off the coming crash.

Unfortunately, the fed has cut rates to near zero, which means that they have very little wiggle room as far as monetary policy to help out during the recession.
The next recession is going to suuuuuuck.
