I'm now obsessed with the idea of Hearts of Midlothian becoming a European superpower overnight

Also the Greg moments in this episode were off the charts good.

This Weissel whistleblower thing is great, obviously someone is pulling his strings and it could be anybody. It could even be Rhea as a brilliant play to make everyone accept her as CEO and then she instantly makes the problem no one could solve go away.

I should have watched the promo first, this is looking pretty bad for L to the O-G-A-N

I mean it has to be Sandy right? The number of people on the planet willing to spend more than 20 million dollars to make Logan look bad cant be very high.

Yeah it’s definitely Logan’s brother.

The fact that L to the O G wasn’t blowing up Twitter on Sunday night is proof that this show doesn’t have much of a cultural reach. :negative:

It’s definitely the brother behind the whistleblower. He told Greg to Gregxit so that he would be spared the slaughter he thinks is coming.

Why would his brother vote to keep Logan in charge the last season, and then screw him this one? Unless the whole cruise thing was really the last straw. And I thought the whistle blower had firsthand knowledge and took part in some of the coverups, has his brother ever worked there?

I think it would make sense, Ewan was uncomfortable with a boardroom ambush that took advantage of Logan's health problems, but indicting him in public for his immorality would be far more up his street. In fact he'd probably want to keep Logan in charge precisely to maximise the impact.

I don't think Ewan's the only candidate to want to drag Logan over the coals given the hostile takeover bid and the fallout with Pierce but it's a smart guess and would explain why he's reappeared now. If he's in touch with a whistleblower who actually feels remorse and/or outrage instead of just seeking a payday from a rival, then that could be why they're turning down the $20 mill.

Oh that’s right, Ewan could be the backer and not the actual whistle blower.

I always assumed they were Irish because of their names (especially Siobhan). Apparently the creators hadn’t decided until recently.

What Ewan says certainly makes him look like he's behind it but I wouldnt be surprised if it was a misdirection/he only knows about it from the biographer or something.

Also if you want a nasty contrast compare Kendall getting crushed by the news host at cold butter dinner last season vs how horribly he treated the actress in this one.

Ewan has a board seat or two, right? If so, does he have a fiduciary duty not to pull this sort of thing?

The Murdochs are Scottish-Australian, and Logan and Ewan and Roy are all Scottish names so I'd always assumed Scottish(-Canadian) originally, likely of Irish extraction like Brian Cox irl. Then again I am Scottish of Irish extraction so perhaps subconsciously keen for kinship with this fictional pack of depraved American billionaires. I totally missed any early reference to them being Quebecois.

It is funny that Brian Cox's character has been given his real background and James Cromwell's has been given his actual environmentalist zeal. I wonder how it is to play lovely people that take on your personal traits.

Blood sacrifice sounds ominous. But I can't think of who among the cast is most likely to get figuratively deep-sixed by Logan. Hopefully it's a screwing of someone meaningful and not, say, Fisher Stevens.

I think Tom is the most likely, but Logan would be best for the company. That is, unless Greg decides to sink the ship and collect 250 billion.

Poor Roman, no one even noticed he was held hostage or possibly even knew he had flown to Turkey. Any deal that comes out of this whole mess would probably not hold up in court as it was made under duress.

Remarkable that in a room full of pretty sharp people it was Logan who was the only one to get Greg out of the room seconds before he spread the Death Pit Knowledge virus to everyone.
