My parents did use the "bachelor" euphemism to explain to child-me why my great-uncle was always single at the family get-togethers. I also thought it meant the 'ladies man' definition at the time and didn't twig to it until they finally said "he's not into women" when I was a teenager. In my defense the illness that took my hearing at age 5 did also give me actual verifiable brain damage, though, what's Bloody Hedgehog's excuse

I was going to say that the only topic that could raise as much goon ire is video games, but that just reminded me of the thread in PI where a guy came in asking for advice on rehoming his Golden Retrievers, because he didn't have time for them, and the thread got swarmed by WoW goons putting him on blast for playing WoW all day and neglecting his animals. It was basically a perfect storm.
