If Turkey did blow up American soldiers, they're not exactly high in public opinion, so ... who knows? Trump is an ineffectual piece of poo poo, but there are a lot of warhawks in positions of power that might simply override him. But we also just vetoed the UN resolution to do anything about it when we thought it was merely our allies getting genocided. Benghazi was a tragedy that's really quite small, in comparison, but the standards we hold republicans to are orders of magnitude easier to reach, so who the gently caress even knows.

Estimate is 15-100 US soldiers “caught up in artillery fire.” That could mean anything from deaths to “they were shelling a position that was too close and we are unhappy.”

They'd call it falling under artillery fire if a guy tripped while shells were airborne vaguely nearby and landing nowhere close if it got them clicks.
