Last Time: -The place I thought was a dead end last time was NOT a dead end, but a whole new path I mistook for a shortcut back to an old path. -Leads up to the rafters of the cathedral, where some knights and thralls were waiting to... fall and die like idiots. -Dropped down to find Patches, finally. -He's SUPER sorry about what he did and TOTALLY won't do it again. Promise. -I buy Onion Bro's armor off him. -I kill a ton of worm guys, and then find a room with a lady who runs an invasion covenant and is friends to worm guys. -Time to go back to the poison swamp to see what I can find. -Wander around a little bit looking for unexplored corners of the swamp, and eventually find a sorcerer scroll to give to my sorcerer friend. -I buy a new spell off him that causes a cloud of massive damage. I am very happy. -While looking for the final flame to extinguish, I end up climbing a long ladder. -Ladder leads to a room with a dead/sleeping wolf that runs another covenant. -From here, an elevator leads up to another part of the broken bridge from where I started the Undead Settlement. -There's a Stray Demon there, who has seen better days. -I kill him with my super good new spell.  -Off stream, I'd explored the swamp to the best of my ability to get things I was missing on stream. It's easy to get lost here. -Got a new sorcery scroll, and extinguished the last flame, which opened the big door. -Going through that door, I run into some more harpy dudes. -Past them, a couple darkwraiths pick fights with some of those weird-faced things (called Ghru) before a boss door. -The boss is a Knight of the Abyss. He killed all the others so he's the strongest one. He's fast and hits hard. -The other knights that died come back to life during the fight. -Turns out they hate everyone equally, and if I let them, they'll fight the boss with me. -After he dies though, he absorbs all the power from all the other dead knights and comes back (literally) fired up. -Using a summon outside of the fight, I grab a new friend I met at the shrine, Sirris of the Sunless Realms. -Having an ally to distract a boss is a valid tactic so leave me alone.  -Finally win, and the first of the Lords of Cinder have been dealt with. Hooray! -Beyond the battle, a path opens leading to the Catacombs of Carthus. -Catacombs means skeletons. -Unlike previous Souls games, it appears that certain skeletons will come back to life one extra time, which is nice. -Making my way through and dealing with the various types of skeletons, and head down some stairs. -HUGE BALL OF SKELETONS tries to run me over. -Our friends from Astora has lost his travel companion. He says he's still looking for his buddy. -Enter a room with a goblet made from a skull. -Touch skull and get sucked into the abyss. -It's very dark in here. There's an item, but... there's also appears to be a giant hand... -OH gently caress BIG SKELETON gently caress RUN HELP! -Killed the big skeleton. More like big bitch. -Escaped the abyss and continue on to Irithyll of the Boreal Valley. It's pretty and snowy and nighttime and pretty. -Giant wolf/rat/alligator materializes out of thin air and attacks me on a bridge. -There are lanky ghost knights who sometimes aren't ghosts and won't stop attacking me. -There are also things where I can only see their glowing eyes and smoke-like heads until I get close enough. -Find a big dark room of a ton of these things. -Eventually get overwhelmed and run away exhausted.
