Started the game, woke from my drunken stupor, put my pants on, flailed at the fan, had a heart attack, and dropped dead on the floor (after clicking the "Ah, sweet darkness." (or whatever it was) dialogue choice). I haven't laughed that hard at a game in quite a while. Started again with the same character, and am 4 hours in now. You have to play a bit cautiously with low physique and psyche... The writing and overall feel of this game is amazing. I thought I'd really miss some sort of active combat system, but I really don't.

Volition is kind of boring a lot of the time, but don't let that fool you into thinking it's always right, or always boring! Volition has its own brand of bad decision making due to being so goddamn centrist and tedious. On the other hand, Volition has COMPLETELY changed an entire dialog tree by basically calling out every single one of my other skills as idiots. This game is loving incredible, is what I'm saying. Edit: loving hell did we get the idea to speak about the same event at the exact same time, poster above me? What the heck?

if im gonna do more than one playthrough, ideally one with a fairly goofy focused strengths/weaknesses char and the other a more run of the mill generalist who feels ashamed for being a loser trying to get his life together, does anyone here think that it matters what order i do these in? presumably the first guy might struggle with the actual case more than the second

I get the impression that you'll learn things and have a fun rollercoaster even if you're bad at pursuing the case. I also get the impression that any stat combination has a good shot at the case, just through different routes. This may not apply to any skill combination, mind you. I'd actually do the goofball first, so you don't consciously / subconsciously know some of the ways to get evidence without advice/skillchecks from doing things reasonably correctly on a
