I tried rewatching the prequels to bring back nostalgia especially pod racing for the game cube. I fell asleep during the phantom menace. The only way I can "watch" them again is the plinkett reviews.

Saw one of the newer star wars movies (Rogue One I think?), seemed weird how it was more about.. the idea of star wars I guess? Here's all the iconography from what you might have picked up via cultural osmosis as being "Star Wars", but it would have made little sense if you were from an alternate universe where star wars didnt exist and you just walked into the theater.

Never understood why laser swords are better than laser guns and deflect them when they’re presumably the same kind of laser. If they aren’t, why didn’t they make the guns outta the same crystals? I think one good thing the prequels got as a story telling beat was making it clear Jedi were assholes, that always felt not clear enough in the OT

Why do people on this forum like Rogue One so much? The only thing it had going for it was very good 70s Star Wars visuals and technology, and I guess just pure Star Wars porn at the end, and that can quickly get embarassing. That can be enough to enjoy it, but gently caress me if it's enough for it to be enjoyable or for a full rewatch. I could see rewatching the last 30-40 minutes, but Jesus Christ, I don't see much of worth in the 1 and a half hours preceding it.

Rogue One is not very good but of the four Star Wars films since Disney bought it, its sadly the best. Imagine making adventure films so bad even China doesnt want them and thats what Disney managed

I can watch big trouble in little China 1.5 times instead of rogue one wtf kind of opportunity cost is that supposed to be

alright so the deal with star wars is there's this guy luke skywalker who has a sister named leia organa and his dad is named darth vader and basically it's like just the trials and tribulations they go through as a family trying to make it in the distant past

The only way I can "watch" them again is the plinkett reviews. Episode 1 is actually the only one of the prequels I kind of appreciate on a certain level because it's the only one that had lots of effort put into making it, with sets, locations and non-cgi designs. II and III are just so goddamn lazy, I mean Jesus Christ. Episode I is by far the biggest trainwreck of all of them, but that's partly because II and III don't really try as much so they can't fail as badly at everything. Episode I is also a frighteningly boring movie overall (only II exceeds it in boringness in the series), so I can't watch it anymore, because Jesus Christ is it the boring kind of trainwreck. Still I somehow manage to have a bit more respect for it than the following two, out of appreciation for what went into making it and that they were trying to make a real movie, rather than just finishing up the rest of the prequels on a sound stage with a greenscreen because they had to, because they made money (both on the movie itself and on related toys and video games).

The most important thing to remember about which Star Wars movies is that you can find HD remasters of 4, 5, and 6 without all the lizard-rear end and poo poo by searching for Harmy's Despecialized edition out there on the interwebz. Friends don't let friends watch the 'Special' Edition.

But will Disney release the HD version of the holiday special, a Star wars story, by Disney.

Did the EU books say what happened to that one guy after Luke the loving rear end in a top hat killed his rancor? Did he seek revenge?

Icochet posted:Did the EU books say what happened to that one guy after Luke the loving rear end in a top hat killed his rancor? Did he seek revenge? In the desert, Malakili was attacked by the Red Key Raiders, criminals who had risen to power in Jabba's absence, but he was rescued by Sheriff Cobb Vanth and Issa-Or, self-proclaimed law enforcers. When the two learned Malakili was a beastmaster, they offered him a job in Freetown to work with rontos and teach a Huttlet. Malakili accepted the position and felt he had regained purpose. Vanth was concerned about the growing power of the Red Key Raiders, so with Malakili's help, the sheriff formed an alliance with a group of Tusken Raiders. Later, when Freetown was attacked by Red Key thugs, the Tusken Raiders arrived to help. Eventually, Malakili was reunited with Porcellus, the former head chef of Jabba's Palace. Together, they traveled to Mos Eisley and opened the Crystal Moon Restaurant.
