Rather than clog up this thread, I'll announce them on Twitter (@PunchMcLightnin). Punch McLightning fucked around with this message at 01:58 on Oct 21, 2019 |

Punch McLightning posted:I'll update my records going forward. Thanks! Haha, it's something that's so engrained that I don't think it's ever going to change. Both Asukas did like my tweet about it so I'm honour bound to continue the fight but it's not something that I expect to change without a lot of confusion going on.

Special formatting request: Please only list the name of the person you are voting for from each match-up. This will be easier for me to count than bolding names from match-ups. I can work around this if necessary, but if you can vote by just listing the name of your choice, that would be great. You can abstain from votes. You are not required to list that vote as ‘abstain,’ you just need to skip it. Dalton Castle Eliminated in Round 1 of 2017 WH-128 by Johnny Gargano The Party Peacock won the RoH World Championship late in 2017, but at that point was so injured that his reign was heavily impacted by his physical condition. Once he came back healthier in 2019, he’s been able to regain some momentum, doing a good job in a feud to get Rush over and having good matches with Dragon Lee & Will Ospreay between RoH & NJPW. Also, he did the hype video for this year’s tournament! Davey Boy Smith Jr. Did not appear in 2017 WH-128 DBS Jr. left New Japan this year to try to get featured more as a solo act, moving to MLW to work towards this goal. He had a very good match with Timothy Thatcher there, as well as two great Bloodsport matches against Tom Lawlor & Killer Kross. Smith is an underrated big man in the sport. Killer Kross Did not appear in 2017 WH-128 Kross has turned out to be a good, sinister heel this year, in both Impact & AAA. He did well opposite Cain Velasquez in Cain’s debut at TripleMania. His match with Davey Boy Smith Jr. at this year’s first Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport was very popular as well. Tony Nese Did not appear in 2017 WH-128 Tony Nese has been a cornerstone of the 205 Live show, holding the Cruiserweight championship from April to June of this year. He had very good matches with Cedric Alexander and Buddy Murphy this year. His abs are also ridiculous. Silas Young Did not appear in 2017 WH-128 A two-time RoH World Television Champion, Young has continued to be a key piece of RoH’s roster. His interviews can be really good, and he’s capable of being in good matches – I really liked the six man tag he did with the Briscoes against Villain Enterprises in January of this year at Honor Reigns Supreme. Kylie Rae Did not appear in 2017 WH-128 Kylie Rae shined on the indies this year, with great matches against Tessa Blanchard in Zelo Pro and with Orange Cassidy in Beyond Wrestling. She also appeared on AEW’s Double or Nothing, where she looked good in a four-way match. But she then left the promotion and went on a quiet hiatus, only breaking it for a couple of matches close to Chicago. Hopefully she’s able to resolve what she’s going through so she does better going forward. Joaquin Wilde/DJZ Did not appear in 2017 WH-128 Formerly known as DJ Z, he signed with WWE in March of this year and debuted in late June in NXT. His main highlights came in 2018 with Impact and on the indies, where he excelled as a high flyer. He participated in the NXT Breakout Tournament, so he should be featured on the black-and-yellow brand going forward. Brody King Did not appear in 2017 WH-128 A hoss and a half, Brody King joined Ring of Honor at the end of 2018, where he joined Villain Enterprises. In Marty Scurll’s stable, King has won the RoH World Tag & Six-Man Tag Championships. King also teamed with Jeff Cobb to put on a great tag match at BOLA opposite Daisuke Sekimoto and Jonathan Gresham. Low Ki Did not appear in 2017 WH-128 At this point, I feel like you know what Low Ki does. Stiff strikes, good matches (if not as highly acclaimed as he used to be), and a track record of burning bridges that has left him working mainly in MLW on a sporadic schedule despite it being a wrestling war where everyone’s grabbing talent as fast as possible. Still, he was that company’s World Champion for seven months. Yuka Sakazaki Did not appear in 2017 WH-128 One of the three surviving members of TJPW's first class, Yuka's infectious personality and in ring ability have made her a crowd favourite for years. It took only one match to endear her to the hearts of an all new audience at AEW's Double or Nothing PPV and with an upcoming Princess of Princess title shot at the legendary Sumo Hall against former partner, Shoko Nakajima, it's only a matter of time before the whole world is hearing AYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY Thanks to George W Bushi for his help with this profile! Jordynne Grace Did not appear in 2017 WH-128 Currently part of the Impact Knockouts division, Grace is a well-traveled grappler, who’s worked in PROGRESS, Beyond, Pro Wrestling EVE, and Sendai Girls. She was also part of the battle royal at All In. She’s a powerhouse and at just 23 is a strong prospect. She’s already had highlight matches with Chihiro Hashimoto and starred in a street fight with five men in PROGRESS. The Revival, Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder Dawson: Eliminated in Round 3 of 2017 WH-128 by Hiromu Takahashi Dash: Eliminated in Round 1 of 2017 WH-128 by Nick Jackson A highly praised team since their days in NXT, The Revival got lost for a while on the main roster but seem to have some momentum with strong matches against Roode & Gable, Ciampa & Gargano, and The New Day. They’re now up to three tag tile runs on the main brands, including their current time as Smackdown’s tag champs. Kay Lee Ray Did not appear in 2017 WH-128 After a highly praised run on the UK indies, including a praised match with Meiko Satomura, Kay Lee Ray signed with WWE in early 2019. Quickly joining the NXT UK brand, Ray went on to win the NXT UK Women’s title at the Cardiff TakeOver, defeating Toni Storm. Jimmy Havoc Did not appear in 2017 WH-128 One of AEW’s top prospects, Havoc’s been praised for his charisma and his brawling ability. He came to the states after a successful run in PROGRESS from 2014 on. He’s being positioned to be a good midcarder for AEW. Tony Deppen Did not appear in 2017 WH-128 Deppen has had a breakout year in 2019, first with GCW and then with PWG at Battle of Los Angeles, where he was part of two matches Dave Meltzer gave ****+ ratings. A promising brawler, Deppen has also been praised for his work as a heel. Ilja Dragunov Did not appear in 2017 WH-128 Dragunov has spent the past two years tearing it up in wXw and PROGRESS. Having now moved over to the WWE full time, he’s had a couple of great matches with Kassius Ohno and Cesaro. He also spent a month with WALTER as wXw World Tag Team Champions. Rey Mysterio Eliminated in Round 1 of 2017 WH-128 by Neville Eliminated in Round 1 in 2015 by Roderick Strong Eliminated in Round 4 in 2011 by Dolph Ziggler Eliminated in Round 2 in 2009 by Shawn Michaels Eliminated in Round 2 in 2007 by Austin Aries The greatest luchador of all time, Mysterio has been hampered by the wear and tear of his 30+ year career. Despite WWE seemingly not knowing how to use him, he’s still had a series of great matches with Andrade this calendar year, proving he can still go. Kairi Sane Did not appear in 2017 WH-128 Sane had a great 2018, winning the NXT Women’s Championship from Baszler in a solid series of matches. She’s since been promoted to the main roster, where she’s in a tag team with Asuka. Despite their copious talents, Sane has not been appearing on television regularly recently. Jordan Devlin Did not appear in 2017 WH-128 Devlin has become one of the most acclaimed workers in the British scene, putting on numerous highly praised matches in PROGRESS and OTT. He’s been highly praised for matches with Ilja Dragunov, WALTER, and David Starr over the last couple of years. Flamita Did not appear in 2017 WH-128 Flamita is one of the most overlooked luchadors active right now. While he primarily works in AAA and Dragon Gate, he has appeared in more than 20 promotions this year. His career highlight has to be his work in the trios match from PWG Sixteen that Dave Meltzer gave five stars. Just 24, he should be a star somewhere in the future. Rhea Ripley Did not appear in 2017 WH-128 A semifinalist in the 2018 Mae Young Classic, Ripley went on to become the first ever NXT UK Women’s Champion. She eventually lost her belt to Toni Storm, but appears poised to enter a higher profile feud with Shayne Baszler. Bianca Belair Did not appear in 2017 WH-128 Extremely charismatic, Belair is a real prospect in NXT. While she has areas that she can improve in, she came off well in her feud with Shayna Baszler. Her most unique part of her work is using her extremely long hair braid as a whip on opponents. Staying in NXT will be to her benefit and give her the opportunity to try to get her ring work up to the level of her star power. Jordan Myles (ACH) Eliminated in Round 1 of 2017 WH-128 by Will Ospreay Eliminated in Round 2 in 2015 by Chris Hero After years of shining on the indies and in spot runs in New Japan, ACH finally signed a deal with WWE and has recently debuted in NXT, winning the NXT Breakout Tournament. He should continue to rise up the ranks of NXT in 2020 and beyond. MJF Did not appear in 2017 WH-128 Saving the best for last, at least in MJF’s mind. A tremendous heel, MJF is great on the mic and looks to be pegged as a future star for AEW. Just 23, he’s showing an increased ability in the ring. It wouldn’t be surprising at all to see him be a main eventer in the near future. Your ballot: Dalton Castle vs. Davey Boy Smith Jr. vs. Killer Kross Tony Nese vs. Silas Young vs. Kylie Rae Joaquin Wilde vs. Brody King vs. Low Ki Yuka Sakazaki vs. Jordynne Grace vs. The Revival Kay Lee Ray vs. Jimmy Havoc vs. Tony Deppen Ilja Dragunov vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Kairi Sane Jordan Devlin vs. Flamita vs. Rhea Ripley Bianca Belair vs. Jordan Myles vs. MJF Voting closes at 7 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday, or whenever I get in front of a computer after that.
