No testing allowed. ... *continues in this way for a couple years* ... Everyone: Here's a stack of hundreds of reports from some of the most decorated folks in the military saying it doesn't work. Bureau of Ordinance: fuk u, ur not my real dad ... *someone who used them finally gets to a position to order some testing* ... Bureau of Ordinance: Huh, turns out these things really suck. Too bad we didn't know this earlier.

In 2013 the former chairman of the Swedish Left Party published a picture on instagram that was supposed to show off his Liverpool F.C. tatoo. He didn't notice that his dick was visible in the picture.

"Superiority" is a science fiction short story by British writer Arthur C. Clarke, first published in 1951. It depicts an arms race during an interstellar war. It shows the side which is more technologically advanced being defeated, despite its apparent superiority, because of its willingness to discard old technology without having fully perfected the new. Meanwhile, the enemy steadily built up a far larger arsenal of weapons that while more primitive were also more reliable. (I always thought this story was far fetched.)

Also a US Congressman gave an interview during the war where he mentioned that the Japanese depth charges were ineffective since they were set to the wrong depth.

IJN oxygen torpedoes had a bad habit of blowing up their own ships, but when they worked properly they made a big boom, so they did a cost-benefit analysis, tweaked the chemistry a bit and kept using them.

This seems more like it's about WW2 eastern front tanks, where the Germans built 1000 models of Panzer 4 and kept shipping Panzer 4s from the front to the back to get retooled, only to go back to the factory right after getting to the front, while the Soviets just built more T34s than God (and the T34s were better anyway lol). One of the malfunctioning weapons in the story is literally a space torpedo that blows up their own ships though.

"Pornocracy" is a legitimate term for referring to an actual government that existed (Papal States, 10th century).KOTEX GOD OF BLOOD posted:hitler was also an overgrown 6th grader who wasted time on puerile fantasies of ever larger tanks, this is a fact i learned from noted history book "my tank is fight" by zack parsons Hitler tried to use WW1 style defenses of "trenches+concentrated bombardments, don't give an inch" during the retreat through the Ukraine, despite the fact that the shelling density they could pull off on that frontage was like 1% as dense as during WW2.
