CSPAM is constantly on the cutting edge of coming to grips with the horrors of endstage capitalism and realising that the Democratic Party would much rather have Trump in office than Sanders, whether or not they have any means of removing either from power. D&D is a cursed place where the leftmost acceptable political candidate is Elizabeth Warren. The 2016 election was very much a radicalising moment for quite a lot of us.

I first recall CSPAM appearing because of a weird time in which a lot of different countries had elections going on near the same time, by random chance. A lot of the DD election threads were moved there. At the time, it included the Canpol thread, and I wondered for a few days where it went. Once all the elections passed, CSPAM became what it is now.

Doctor Jeep posted:cspam used to be ycs (your candidate sucks), the 2016 election subforum CSPAM was originally RSF: The Election Erection, and worked out well enough that we got made into a permanent subforum after a while, which is when the first name change happened. After the election, either ZDR or FAU decided we needed a better name and after a number of suggestions settled on CSPAM. While it has always had a strong leftist contingent, this became quite a bit stronger after the Most Qualified Candidate of All Time blew it to a bloated reality TV rapist who'd run his campaign entirely as a vanity exercise, and a lot of Hillary supporters saw the light, got banned for toxxing for her, or both. Broadly speaking, it's intended to be a place to talk about politics and current events without necessarily having to hew to the stricter protocols of D&D, including but not limited to being able to call someone a stupid idiot hellfucker without having to exhaustive and tediously demonstrate that that is the case. Rumors that it also exists as a cautionary fable of where bad D&D threads/posters get sent are entirely unfounded. Honest.

The ongoing revelations about the precise degree to which Hillary is a worthless idiot hellfucker and the precise degree to how badly she hosed each and every one of us radicalises more by the day. CSPAM is an S-tier name.

Is it reasonable to assume that most of you are Bernie supporters? I would think that he's the guy you'd most prefer get the Democratic nomination. However, I could imagine some of you being far enough Left that you'd consider Bernie a sell-out and a milquetoast moderate. He did endorse Hillary in 2016, after all. If I had to pick one candidate I'd most like to win at this point, it would be Tulsi Gabbard by a mile. She's telling the truth about our foreign policy and you see how she's treated for touching that third rail of American politics. So, which candidate are you supporting? And what is your opinion of Tulsi?

Not even remotely involved in the thread thusfar, but... 1.) Whether I prefer Sanders or Warren depends on my mood, the weather, how well seasoned my last meal was. Either would be a really solid step in the right direction. They both have policies I agree with and policies I think could use work. 2.) When Gabbard joins Fox as the token "Socialists pushed me out of the Democrat party", I will dutifully place a chip on my bingo card. American foreign policy sucks. Tulsi Gabbard also sucks. She's not the worst option, but unseasoned boiled vegetables are also not the worst technically-edible meal.
