Thats all well and good there that you want to turn out competent operators, but how in the name of gently caress does that help the ECONOMY?
How can people get jobs if there are actual standards that they have to meet in order to operate something that can seriously gently caress poo poo up if mishandled?
Don't worry, the spirits of the free market will surely correct this misguided venture when it turns out the worker themself can't afford the certification and the businesses aren't going to pony up for any more than a CBT on top of a (forged) driver's license .

State Fair had a few old-timey saw mills and such being demonstrated. There's plenty of moving belts in there, and that chain going through the pile of sand with spurs off the sides of the links.

I was curious recently how machine shops used to work in the days before electricity and there were just belts flying every which way. It's cool

You can find those in most museums of industry.
Often with signs that say:

I think it was the pulp drying machine at the tissue mill I interned at that was original 30s vintage machinery. The steam engine was long replaced with an electric motor but it still used transmission belts to drive every rotor. They'd been mostly safety caged but there were a few sections where the entire machine was just caged off because there was no smart way to separate moving and static.

She's not the employer; "Morgan County Coroner Annette Butcher", just the poor woman who had to deal with the aftermath of this company's negligence.

I was on edge the entire video once she brought out the mandolin and wasn’t using a guard or chain link glove. Those things hunger for flesh.

One time my wife bought a cheap mandolin. I came home and saw her struggling to slice a potato or something on it. I snatched it from her, saying, "Give me that. You'll hurt yourself." and then tried it myself, IMMEDIATELY slicing a nice hunk off my thumb. Fortunately, I maintained the presence of mind to use the comedy timing, holding out my mangled and bloody thumb to her: "See?!"

My coworker was tasked with reverse engineering a fence making machine of about that vintage. A single motor drove a complex series of pulleys and gears going around the entire machine to drive five or six movements all timed by cams.

It's really impressive to see how it works, especially since it was designed way before CAD was a thing.

He pulled most of the gears out and replaced them with a few servo motors timed by a computer. So much simpler!

It, too, is completely caged and covered in light curtains.

Also, wear your bike helmets kids. I copped several blows to the head but my helmet left me totally unscathed.

Finally you should check out First Dog as it's a good comic I like it very much.

At the cost of ruining the day of anybody relying on any trains coming afterwards if he fucks up and causing the driver trauma if they unwillingly ends up killing him?

Nah, better pay a ton of money to poor people to gently caress up yourself only on a dumb mountain.
