The Wire is a good villain, played charismatically. I like The Idiot's Lantern.

Tangentially related, I love when Big Finish got the license to do new Who related audios and they went to RTD for comment and he got all super-excited about The Wire and started demanding audios about The Wire tellmemoreaboutTheWire! :3:

Most people I know hate The Idiot's Lantern. I wish I did, because it meant that any part of the episode past the intro had manage to elicit emotions in me. I do find the intro with the Doctor and Rose very cute, though.

The biggest misstep in Idiot's Lantern was having Maureen Lipman go full ham and bellowing "HUNGRY! FEED ME!" constantly. The idea of an evil sentient TV broadcast is kind of neat and I liked the parts where she was making threats in 50s BBC English.

This has made me think of a story where the villain is Received Pronunciation and it is trying to flatten and root out regional accents, and the Doctor shows up to proudly stand up for them.

Maybe we'll get Christopher Eccleston back! :unsmith:

This was certainly part of why I didn't like it. The other part is that most of it was just kinda... boring, really. I just found that it dragged and wasn't that fun to watch. I was more invested in the family drama than the main plot, and that ended fairly satisfyingly at least.

My random-rear end guess is either Marco Polo or the Space Pirates, so that a Complete Season 1 or 6 can be put out on Blu-ray, respectivley.

Apparently they’re going to produce more of Season 12 on Blu-ray. Hopefully that means they’re also going to do more Season 10 and 19 as well.

I was never a huge fan of Little Britain but I'm still thrilled about them doing a Little Brexit special, because more Tom is always a good thing :allears:

Also fingers crossed that Dracula is any good, I still remember the dizzying highs of Sherlock and do my best to forget the horrifying lows (like the last episode :smith:)

I don't know if the animation can safely capture the incredible ACTing talent of at least one supporting castmember:

On one hand, this won't be the worst Dracula adaptation by a long shot. No way.

I’d say their Come Fly With Me was much worse. Actual black/brownface on TV in the 21st century.

Not that I’m excusing the bad bits of LB.
