For being a country that is, in theory, built around the idea that monarchy is a tyrannical system, there sure are a lot of Americans who are all for treating their president like a king. In the best of worlds, the idea of the nepotism that has taken over the current administration should’ve caused the same type of rabid hatred that the ancient Romans had for even the title of king; even when the emperors came along they tip-toed around the terminology to avoid uproar. Republicans of today seem perfectly happy with treating an elected leader as king, as long as he’s sufficiently hateful.

It might only last a short while (maybe only 2 years) before being gone entirely, and it is required to be a very intimate and close knit group.
