I'm sure it's possible to find something more opposite my TJ than the C5Z.

But only just.

My brother's car was due for emissions, he's out of state, and my mom was intimidated at the idea of driving it to get it checked.

I don't blame her. I haven't driven anything over 190hp since I sold the WJ, so my sense of "fast" is pretty low, but holy gently caress that car hauls without even trying.

Getting wisdom teeth out is super common. Do what they say and rest, not a big deal.

Can’t go wrong with an LS. Love the torque in those. Yeah my mustang screams and pulls harder higher in the revs, but my base C5 felt faster down low, even though it’s 460hp vs 350.

Even compared to my LS1 C10 it's a whole different ballgame. Up somewhere around 80-100hp depending on how much credit you want to give my cold air intake and exhaust, down 800lb, and No loving 4L60E. It just feels effortless. If he hasn’t already tell him to drop a C6Z shifter into it. It’s a direct swap and completely transforms the shifting.

A dude I know drives a C6MT convertible, he loves it, drives it all over the country and has over 150k miles on it. I really like that car, but drat I'd get into trouble with it that's why I drive slow cars, I have a hard enough time not speeding in my loving xB :v:

Don't know if he has yet, but if there's anything I'd improve, it'd be that.

This car is the opposite, under 50k miles and minty fresh. Though I'm sure I'd be in big trouble with it.

Of course I think the car might just attract trouble. I was sitting in a line at a stoplight and watched an oncoming Focus try to jump the center median into me.

I caught myself doing 95 in the Outback the other day (long empty stretch of tollroad). A 3500 pound wagon with roughly the same power as your xB. :stare:

It started shaking pretty bad until I let off the gas. Bad CV joint making itself very well known (and it's been clicking anytime I give it gas since then ), but as it turns out, a brand new (not reman) axle is $80 at Advance (no core either). They're $60 on Rockauto + core + shipping, so I'm gonna order it online for in-store pickup at Advance and use a 20% off coupon. I just hope this one lasts until I can afford the new one. :ohdear:

Nice. I think the new Corollas look really good; I only wish they had a more powerful engine option.

If I understand correctly, the CVT has a "normal" first gear so you get better response and torque multiplication at low speed, then it shifts into CVT for mid range accel and low RPM cruising. Sort of the best of both worlds.

A lot of car reviewers have said believe it or not the CVT Kia put in the new Soul is one of the best on the market. Anyone driven one?

Yeah it is by far the most responsive CVT that I've driven and it's great in traffic but I haven't tried kia's offering so idk that could be better.

The hybrid might behave that way but it doesn't have a separate physical first great. The 2.0 HSD is a little more powerful, +30bhp I think.

Not at all. No idea about the other stuff though. I mean it improves on Toyota's lovely stock system that tries to run you off the road so...
The dude seems to take safety seriously, bans people who even discuss how to get round stock systems in an unsafe manner.

One of the gig companies I drive for requires pictures of the interior and exterior of the car I'm using. So naturally, I took a picture of the best corner (front left), and cleaned out the interior. It was pretty clean when I got it, but I hurridly threw everything from the Saturn into it when I left the dealer with it. So I spent a bit more time cleaning it out earlier.

Found a pack of brand new Pennzoil branded 1157 light bulbs. I know of one place that sells them (dirt cheap too.. $1.19 for two, vs $5 or so at Walmart for actual name brand bulbs), and it's right down the street from both the dealer and my apartment. I've purchased 2 packs of them, but used all 4 bulbs already (one housing was cracked, the other 2 showed signs of the bulbs getting wet, but had no water in them?). So finding an unopened package... Yeah, they had to know it was popping taillights.

FWIW, it hasn't popped any bulbs since I replaced the cracked housing (it's been through one decent storm already, no water in any housings). The two inner bulbs looked like they'd been in there a long time; I think the only reason it got through our state inspection is because both were broken, and neither I nor the inspector knew it has 4 brake lights instead of 2 (+ center high mount).

I too went out of town this weekend and stayed up late hanging with some friends last night. Upon arriving to work this morning, I parked my car, opened the door, planted my feet on the pavement, and immediately realized I didn't change out of my sneakers after letting the dog out this morning. Dress slacks, button-down shirt, nice belt, gently caress-off red Adidas sneakers.

Luckily the girlfriend works from home on Mondays, so I had her drop off my dress shoes :downs:

That loving sucks. They made another attempt on my truck with a screw driver a few weeks ago, and ended up settling for my torque wrench and custom made coveralls that will only fit a 7 foot ogre. I wish i could just put a sign "nothing worth stealing, you'll never start the truck" They obviously got something because the other morning one of the traffic lights was taken out, and somebody drove the entire length of 32nd street with a hosed up car.

then they'd probably steal the loving sign.

In brighter news, i have been pestering my favorite tire shop for wheel weights but always seemed to miss a pail of them. Today they had 2 pails for me. the pails weigh 208lbs so i probably got 180lbs of lead for 40 bucks. gonna be a lot of cleaning, but i think i can get my bat up to about 75 pounds. And build a ballast to counter-act my fat rear end in the pickup to even out tire wear.

I'm going to build a small ballast ball to stick in the corner of the cab then get it aligned to zero toe with 300lbs in the driver's seat. I would like to put 30,000kms on my truck next spring.
