GOOD CLEAN FOOTBALL
Local Taco truck served food at a local ICE facility. They issued this official apology for their actions.

Chuds are freaking out that the Taco Truck has chosen to support ILLEGALS over law enforcement. And are calling for a boycott. Many also hope the taco truck gets robbed or burns down and no police or firemen respond to their calls for help.

The supervisor of the ice facility says they have never detained families or children at their location, “mostly criminal aliens” so the anger towards them is misdirected. And that really, ICE are the victims here.

It’s like a Nazi officer defending himself saying they only lock up “mostly bad Jews” at his concentration camp, compared to the other camps where they lock up any Jews.

Sorry if this is too local a problem to be thread appropriate. But I figured anything ICE related would apply here.

2 years is about how often people switch jobs anyways, so it's not that temporary compared to other careers. The idea that its ok because it's temporary, is literally the logic of bosses who gently caress their interns.

And loving every company in the world likes to sell the idea that they are a "team". She was the elected representative--she was the boss, and it is gross as gently caress that people are trying to downplay that she was taking advantage of her position to have threesomes with her subordinates.

He just tells the dumbest, easily refutable lies.

He always gets to have the last word in every argument, that's what's so infuriating.

Nobody ever gets to push back against him with a fact-check, and on the off chance that some interviewer is actually on the ball enough to press him on something, he's able to just breeze past it with more gaslighting until he can get back to his Fox News IV feed.

The whole idea of "fact-checking" where it's all such a lopsided conversation is just such a sad joke. President says a bunch of crazy lies that everyone hears on live national TV, newspapers publish corrections that nobody reads or people assume are lies because newspapers lie. Rinse and repeat.

It's kind of insane that the demonstration we've just had at the baseball game is that that is the form that it takes when Trump comes into irrefutable contact with a counterargument that he can't parry or ignore. That is what the only form of effective rhetorical pushback against him is. A crowd that is not in his pocket, reacting organically to him, and this time he doesn't even have a microphone.

Are you serious right now? Like, I get with impeachment we get a lot of new people in the thread but come the gently caress on? A relationship built upon the boss/subordinate dynamic is inherently abusive because the subordinate has almost no power in the relationship due to potential repercussions in their job. Pair this with how incestuous congressional staffing is in DC and you have an environment ripe for abuse. So yes, people are harmed by it. The other staffers were harmed by it, the people involved were harmed by it. These relationships cause harm.

The revenge porn is bad, but what she did was also bad. She should be gone for the same reason Franken needed to go. Abusive, predatory behavior has no place in a position of public trust. Yes, it sucks that this happens and only the Democratic Party seems to have to follow these rules, but that's how this rolls out when the opposition party has no ethics or morals.

you don't get to say that you care about principles if you ditch those principles because other people don't care about them. it doesn't matter what the other team says or does, gently caress them, we know they are shitheads. it is important to do the right thing for internal reasons, because it is the right thing to do, and not simply to contrast yourselves as more of a principles-carer than the bad team

making the right decision is difficult, and often has consequences that suck to endure. if doing the right thing were easier than doing the wrong thing, more people would do the right thing. because it is painful to do the right thing, or because other people do the wrong thing and gain the benefits, is not an excuse to do the wrong thing

there are plenty of people who can take on elected positions who, ideally, do not make questionable or harmful decisions in their personal sex lives. there's no need to circle the wagons and defend a sex pest, even if their sex pestery is relatively benign

nobody is equating the two, they are two distinct bad acts. we don't have to care about the revenge porn aspect when pointing out that, in isolation, sleeping with your employees is bad and unworthy conduct of an elected official. the fact that this behavior was exposed through a separate, awful criminal act in which the elected official is a victim, does not matter regarding if she should vacate her position
