I'm repainting my Scourge army, and hashing out a more organic look, but I'm a bit stumped as to what colour to do the eyes. Any ideas?

Seriously reinforces my desire for a digital ruleset though.  Seems relevant. Yeah some of the FAQ reads weirdly if you don't have your book ready. Commanders still giving their Sphere of influence and full card draw while in transports is nice.

Dropfleet rules for the Ether Drake and Automated Dreadnought in the Stellaris Kickstarter thing are out. Campaign will be ending VERY soon, but there's still a little time. Anyone ever paint a transparent resin model before? I ordered that one because I'm a consumer whore.

oooof. I love dazzle camo but my painting skills, while much better than a long time ago, are not suited for clean decisive lines or attractive designs. Witness my ugly first UCM model. It isn't done but the camo looks pretty bad and I'm wondering if I should give up on it considering how much these guys cost, I'd prefer to have a clean and simple army.   I also really should have used a darker green rather than black for the recesses.

Yeah, definitely supposed to be a glass/metal monolith thing - Maybe test the scheme on a bit of the offcuts? Could also use a wash of some kind to grime up bits around the struts, like water damage. Super keen for the monitors, the scourge ones look like fun! I need to get around to magnetising my stuff though, I've currently been blutak-ing them together, which works, but takes a while.

Monitors in general, slow high armour with oversized firepower. Floating gun battery. The PHR escort version has I think just close action but packs aegis 7 so is a heavy bodyguard. UCM have something similar. Shaltari have a high survivability void gate with extra shooty. Scourge have a bulk lander.

Oh nice, I'm gonna try to convince my locals, I'm flogging/have flogged most of my UCM for Dropzone but I have a softspot for fleet games.

Yeah I'm not sure. The fluff talks about dropping MF-R teams to contact resistance forces a lot. But the numbers involved sound low for Dropfleet. I'm leaning towards cloaks or that rule Echoes have to shoot from silent running.

Has there been any movement on Dropfleet since the Battleships launched? I completely stopped playing and resigned from being a Hawk Talon (lack of interest) and then they got bought out by TT Combat. I haven't followed it at all since then, I've sold off my Dropzone stuff but I'm keeping my Fleet because space games are cool...

Yeah BFE adds a page or 2 of special rules, mostly for Dreadnoughts and Monitors. I think TTCombat are edging closer to releasing an official FAQ that will largely be the community FAQ tweaked. The US con scene seems to be the main test bed for an unofficial rolling beta.

Well, the new scourge/ucm starter boxes are up on preorder. Double what you used to get plus a new commander, plus unit rules reference cards, and a core rules reference, and a blast template. So basically everything you need to start with about 1k points aside from command cards. For £35. Unless someone got it wrong, that's a bargain! Annoyingly though, the freebie UCM commanders I got as prizes didn't include the new Raven which is bundled in at retail.

Well that didn't take very long! Dropfleet fleet builder in live beta with updated ship stats, errata and FAQ landing later this week. Includes a large credit to the community errata as expected.
