BTF posted:Yeah, that's what I meant. Yoh trying to get a chant going with the crowd going nuts for Shooter and just giving up was a personal highlight. Best show I've ever been to. I should learn how to read proper English. I thought you were using that explanation to vote for Kofi

Rarity posted:How did we go from 4 matchups to 16? 4 was when I was still putting graphics together and was unsure of how much time I had to get them together early this week. 16 is because I got them done, but will not be able to do anything with this until Thursday at the earliest.

Special formatting request: Please only list the name of the person you are voting for from each match-up. This will be easier for me to count than bolding names from match-ups. I can work around this if necessary, but if you can vote by just listing the name of your choice, that would be great. You can abstain from votes. You are not required to list that vote as ‘abstain,’ you just need to skip it. Jay White Finished 21st in Favorite Active Wrestlers thread Eliminated in Round 1 of 2017 WH-128 by Pete Dunne For WH-128 ’17, Jay White was a young lion working RevPro and RoH for experience. Now, White’s a former IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, the undisputed leader of Bullet Club, and one of the most hated heels in the world. He has very cerebral matches centering around creative counters to finishers. He’s going to be a key part of New Japan’s future for years. Daisuke Sekimoto Did not appear in 2017 WH-128 Sekimoto is one of the beefiest wrestlers in wrestling today. He primarily works for Big Japan, though he makes many freelance appearances outside of that company. This year he’s worked in PWG, All Japan, wXw, GCW, and ZERO1, among others. His September match against Michael Elgin is one of the top reviewed matches of the year in that company, and he’s also had great matches against Brody King, WALTER, and Chris Dickinson this calendar year. Matt Riddle Eliminated in Round 3 of 2017 WH-128 by Kenny Omega Matt Riddle continues to climb the ranks. After tearing up the indies and EVOLVE, Riddle debuted in NXT earlier this year and has put on great match after great match. He’s already racked up five matches over **** this year, including a great one with Adam Cole on the third episode of NXT. He’s also very charismatic and should be a superstar once WWE gives him the platform he deserves. Tetsuya Endo Did not appear in 2017 WH-128 Endo won the KO-D Openweight Championship by cashing in the Right to Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Gauntlets at DDT is Coming to America this past WrestleMania weekend.. His match with Konosuke Takeshita at July’s Peter Pan show has received rave reviews, although that’s where he lost the Openweight Championship. His match with Makoto Oishi in April was also well received. Hiroshi Tanahashi Finished 14th in Favorite Active Wrestlers thread Eliminated in Round 3 of 2017 WH-128 by Tomohiro Ishii Eliminated in The Quarter-Finals in 2015 by Kazuchika Okada Eliminated in The Semi-Finals in 2013 by Kazuchika Okada Eliminated in Round 1 in 2009 by Jamie Noble The Ace of New Japan! Tanahashi has long been one of the greatest wrestlers in the world. His run on top of New Japan helped revitalize that company, and he won three Wrestler of the Year awards from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. He’s now 42, and you can tell his body’s taken the toll from all of his years of top quality, high intensity matches. But he’s still shown his ability to put on matches at the top of New Japan’s card and is still among the best in the world. Nick Aldis Did not appear in 2017 WH-128 Aldis is an unexpected hero of wrestling over the past two years. Thanks to good promos and a great program with Cody leading up to last year’s All In, he managed to make the NWA Championship meaningful for the first time since Shane Douglas threw it to the ground in ECW. The former Magnus, he’s really improved his in-ring game where he’s had matches against Cody & Marty Scurll on NWA-promoted shows that have been praised. LA Park Did not appear in 2017 WH-128 LA Park is probably the top drawing card in Mexico. He supercharged CMLL’s business when he came in to tease a hair vs. mask feud with Rush that they never came close to delivering on. That’s not a strike against Park, though. Extremely charismatic and a good old man brawler. A fat skeleton. Will always be the Chairman of WCW. Arisa Nakajima Did not appear in 2017 WH-128 SEAdLINNNG's Nakajima has shown she belongs in the conversation for the best in the world in great matches with the likes of veterans Nanae Takahashi, Mima Shimoda and Takumi Iroha as well as getting the best out of talented up and comers like Asuka, Mei Hoshizuki and HIRO'e. With the Beyond the SEA Championship around her waist and her new faction "The Selfish Strawberries" behind her, Nakajima will surely continue to reward the loyal fans who seek out SEAdLINNNG shows. Thanks to George W Bushi for his help with this profile! Tetsuya Naito Finished 13th in Favorite Active Wrestlers thread Eliminated in semi-finals of 2017 WH-128 by Kazuchika Okada Eliminated in Round 1 in 2015 by Adam Cole Naito’s booking is one of the more interesting aspects of New Japan. Extremely talented in the ring and very charismatic, he leads the popular Los Ingobernables de Japon stable, but he’s never really been given the opportunity to top the card before adopting his sleazier persona. He was the long running Intercontinental champion who started all of the talk of combining that belt with the IWGP World title, but then he recently lost it to Jay White. Even if Gedo won’t go all in on him, he’s still one of the best in the world. Bandido Did not appear in 2017 WH-128 Bandido was one of the hottest free agents in late 2018, thanks to his star-making performance at All In. He chose to sign with Ring of Honor, which also allowed him to work PWG. He’s had a tremendous in-ring year, with great matches against Dragon Lee, Will Ospreay (twice), Shane Taylor, Jeff Cobb, and Rush. As talented as he is, he should be a big star for years into the future. Charlotte Flair Eliminated in Round 1 of 2017 WH-128 by Rush Eliminated in Round 2 in 2015 by Adam Cole At one point made the central point of the WWE women’s division, Charlotte has been “demoted” to second place behind Lynch. With two brands, this of course means that she’s still a major force where ever she is. She’s already a nine-time world champion, not including her NXT run. Her match quality hit a peak at the end of 2018, with a series against Becky, Rousey, and Asuka that culminated in a triple threat with Asuka & Lynch that Dave Meltzer gave ****1/2. LuFisto Did not appear in 2017 WH-128 LuFisto has long been one of the top women on the independent scene, breaking ground by partaking in intergender hardcore matches. She’s overcome a stroke and cervical cancer to continue her career. After initially announcing her retirement this year, she won the wXw Femme Fatales tournament and announced she was going to continue her career. Best Friends, Chuck Taylor & Trent Beretta Chuck Taylor finished 22rd in Favorite Active Wrestlers thread Trent Beretta did not receive a vote in the Favorite Active Wrestlers Thread Taylor: Eliminated in Round 2 of 2017 WH-128 by John Cena Trent: did not appear in the 2017 WH-128 Chuck & Trent have largely spent most of the past two years as tag team specialists, with great runs in PWG, RoH, New Japan, and now AEW. Charismatic and great workers, they rank among the best teams in the sport and they’ve been able to take their real world friendship into the central part of their gimmick. They should be among the top teams in AEW for years to come. Brody King Did not appear in 2017 WH-128 A hoss and a half, Brody King joined Ring of Honor at the end of 2018, where he joined Villain Enterprises. In Marty Scurll’s stable, King has won the RoH World Tag & Six-Man Tag Championships. King also teamed with Jeff Cobb to put on a great tag match at BOLA opposite Daisuke Sekimoto and Jonathan Gresham. Bayley Eliminated in Round 2 of 2017 WH-128 by The Miz While Bayley isn’t the babyface superstar some thought she’d be after her NXT run, she’s still a charismatic worker with very good in ring skills. Her tag team with Sasha Banks looked like it’d be special, and they pretty much carried the tag Elimination Chamber to respectability. She’s almost five months in to her run as Smackdown Women’s Champion. Joey Janela Eliminated in Round 1 of 2017 WH-128 by Adam Cole The Bad Boy of pro wrestling, Janela is one of the most unique talents in the game right now. He’s the namesake of a series of oddball “Spring Break” events and associated Lost in New York and Escape from L.A. shows, which feature everything from Dan Severn to death matches to Kikutaro to the family feud of Invisible Man vs. Invisible Stan. Even beyond that, Janela is a talent with a diversity of skills. He made his name doing crazy death matches, but he also had a great hour-long iron man match with David Starr at Beyond’s 2019 Americana show. Few indie wrestlers have been able to build a following like Janela, and his presence on AEW could provide an X-factor for their first year of existence. Your ballot: Jay White vs. Daisuke Sekimoto Matt Riddle vs. Tetsuya Endo Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Nick Aldis LA Park vs. Arisa Nakajima Tetsuya Naito vs. Bandido Charlotte Flair vs. LuFisto Best Friends vs. Brody King Bayley vs. Joey Janela Voting closes at 7 p.m. Eastern on Friday, or whenever I get in front of a computer after that.
