Trump sold himself as a strongman and repeatedly makes overt allusions to becoming a dictator (such as "jokingly" suggesting removing term limits and claiming that any election loss is fraud that his supporters must violently oppose), so his base has gotten locked into the idea that Trump is personally responsible for everything and that removing him from office is our way of stopping him for good. There are people on both sides seriously spreading a conspiracy that Hillary is secretly planning on showing up in 2020 to steal the DNC nomination and become president. Both the far right and far left have a bizarre obsession with her as some megalomaniacal figure who's been pulling the strings for decades and trying to take over the world.
