I've never seen any in real life but as a Manc I can confirm black polos (usually Lyle & Scott etc) are a pretty standard uniform for some types. I did once see a girl on the underground in London wearing an actual Proud Boys hat. The front was the German eagle the Nazis used and it was a trip to see something like that irl.

Was it a Nazi eagle with the word Boy on it? Yea that's just Boy London and it's high fashion. I do not know why the use the specific Nazi Eagle though.

I was actually in London for work today and took this pic cause for two blocks behind this person I was trying to figure out if this was a Nazi/Proud Boy thing or not. I'm very relieved to find out it isn't but it sure looks like the eagle the bad guys in every WW2 movie use. I think it's also something about the way the eagle is positioned on the O. jojoinnit has a new favorite as of 21:03 on Oct 30, 2019 |

I mean, as a fan of Joy Division/New Order you have to explain why there's so much nazi imagery in some of their early stuff. Mostly because of the band members facination with it and it was pretty edgy because hey, lets freak out our parents by wearing the symbols of the people my dad fought against. See Sex Pistols having hot women dressed as Brown Shirts at shows. Even though Nazis did exist at the time, they weren't like they were today. Recnetly I discovered Death in June is a nazi band, and one of my favorite bands, Ladytron, did a cover of their song Little Black Angel, which worried becuase does this mean they're secret Nazis? Nope, i think they just covered it because they liked it and they seem pretty leftist according to their social media. P Googling up why, aparently the brand was created by a Jewish guy in London in the 70s and he just chose it because it looked cool. Though the current reasoning is that is a Roman eagle, not a nazi one. jojoinnit posted:Oh I genuinely did not know that. Yeah, the imperial eagle is utterly ancient. If it has a Nazi swastika on it then it's definitely a Nazi symbol but the imperial eagle in and of itself isn't automatically a Nazi thing. A lot of the symbols and icons Nazi Germany used predated them by hundreds or thousands of years.

Then there's "Weird Al" Yankovic, whose name was slapped on every single racist, bigoted and/or otherwise awful zero-effort "parody" song making the rounds on P2P networks. Al says this has actually harmed his reputation to some extent due to people thinking those lovely songs were his work.

Some of it was hilarious how badly off the mark it was. But yeah, every parody song was by Weird Al. Even non-parody songs that were just funny was by Weird Al. Every song that was written in German was by Rammstein. Songs that vaguely sounded like they might have been German were also by Rammstein. It was sometimes difficult to actually find out who really wrote any neue deutsche härte song as absolutely all of it was attributed to Rammstein. Random industrial songs were often attributed to Nine Inch Nails. Meanwhile you'd find System of a Down - I Cry When Angels Deserve to Die way more often than you found System of a Down - Chop Suey. Also Sascha hit on a friend of mine when she was 16 and when she told him that his response was "So?" I know i saw Du Hast attributed to both KMFDM and Nine Inch Nails. Also trying to find a Laibach song on Napster was basically impossible.

It's definitely there in the original song so pick the preferred explanation: either they played some non-album version, or the audio stream was compressed to hell and back and wiped out that sound somehow, or you're getting old and losing the ability to hear the higher frequencies

That's been going on for a while for songs whose titles aren't actually lyrics from the song (or at least not a hook). I've heard that back in the 70s The Who's Baba O'Riley was often referred to as Teenage Wasteland. Not that long ago I met a guy who thought that Under the Bridge by the Red Hot Chili Peppers was actually called City of Angels.

2D fighting games like Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat are some of the biggest 90s things possible. Both of them had live action movies and children cartoons as well as both being some of the most popular arcade and home console games. I remember a couple years back people posting Street Fighter Valentines online as a meme joke but drat I passed those out to my class as Valentines when I was in the first grade.I remember giving my friends/people I liked the cool characters and the kids I didnt like Ehonda and Zangief.
