The dice in the box aren't limited edition or SoB branded. They're just dice, going by the photo.

Here's the leaks.

No Sisters codex in November or December.

(I guess next Sunday they'll reveal a bunch of witch hunter figures? Maybe Faith & Fury is going to have rules for fielding Inquisition detachments with attached assassins and, I dunno, Scions or something.)

The 5th(?) ed witch-hunters book had rules for arbites in inquisitorial service, which was basically just Stormtroopers with shotguns or bolters.

I wouldn't be surprised to see something like that again - in either the next WD or the Sisters book, using the Enforcers as a base model.

If the codex in the new Sisters box is the full version as they say, then it should have pictures of all the new stuff including multipart kits. They said the next article is the last one, and there's another 40k preview event at the end of November. Between all that and the Exorcist already being shown at a studio preview means we'll almost certainly have seen the full range by the end of this month and have them on shelves in Jan/Feb latest.

Gorgeous set. I wish we had an idea of what it was going to run at - I have a feeling that an exclusive Codex is going to really bloat the cost. What have boxes like this traditionally cost in USD?

The “skirmish” case I got when I started is already filling up so I’ve asked for the “battle” or “crusade” for Christmas. I’m kind of interested in either Necromunda or Aeronautica Imperialis, assuming the Warhammer shop provides the terrain and boards would the “skirmish” case be enough to hold a reasonable sized gang or squadron?

Oh whoa I missed that Kyrinov was listed, is he getting a redesign as well? I had kinda thought Taddeus was meant to be his spiritual successor since they share a lot of the same design elements.

e: nevermind, I'm guessing it's just a bunch of the witch hunter characters coming up for the limited 'made to order, then sent to pasture forever' special

The expansion book is The Book of Ruin. The book in the boxed set is Necromunda: Dark Uprising, which... appears? ...to be a revised core rulebook covering everything.

New inquisitors and daemonhosts is an interesting one. I wonder if they are options in the sisters codex. The daemonhosts would be a really weird option.

Also I continue to botcot necromunda until the spyrer are back drat it!

Stephenls posted:

1) It'll probably be sold out almost immediately.

2) The multipose plastics aren't in the leaks for the remainder of the year, so they'll likely be early next year. However, the boxed set is monopose, so if you like these Sisters scults and this Penitent Engine sculpt, and you miss the box, you won't be able to pick them up when the multipose boxes hit, because those will be slightly different sculpts.

3) Given that Start Collecting Vanguard Space Marines is the monopose Shadowspear Vanguard plastic, and Start Collecting Chaos Space Marines is the monopose Shadowspear Daemonkin plastic, and the Daemonkin plastic in Shadowspear was one full sprue and two half-sprues and leaked photos indicate that the plastic contents of the limited SoB box is also one full sprue and two half-sprues, there's a very good chance that around this time next year, the monopose models from the limited Sisters box will show up in a much less limited Start Collecting Sisters of Battle box, minus all the other limited stuff from the upcoming box like the LE codex and cards and dice and things.

All of which is to say, Sisters box is limited, multipose stuff will probably show up early-to-mid next year, but if you have serious FOMO about missing these sculpts don't worry about it, they'll show up cheaper later. If you really really want a bunch of limited edition cards and dice and the boxed version of the codex, though, better watch that online store like a hawk.

If that's going to be the cases with the Sisters, then I might just wait on ordering the sisters, and pick something else up instead. I imagine I'm going to miss out on the box set pre-order, but I don't want or need the fancy codex and dice and whatnot, and I'd rather have multi-pose figures.

Do you really think that we won't be able to buy them individually until next year? I would have thought the option to buy the new models would be made available alongside the boxset.

Just a couple of posts up, there's a set of leaks for what's supposedly the remainder of the GW releases for the whole year, and it's been accurate for two weeks straight now, and the multipose Sisters models are nowhere on it.

I don't think it's going to be six months the way it was between the Shadowspear release and the multipose Space Marine Vanguard, but it won't be immediate.

Could be January. The new Chaos Space Marine line went on sale almost immediately after Shadowspear; it could be more like that.

 That didn't occur to me.

Well, like I said, I don't want everything that the boxset comes with, and it'll probably sell out in a flash, so maybe I'll just look to finish some of the other models I already have buy something else in the meantime.

I've been wanting to do Chaos Space Marines for the longest time. I thought about doing Word Bearers, but after spending a ton of time on Blood Angels, I need a break from red. I thought maybe I'd do something like Alpha Legion or Death Guard, where I could use some of the contrast paints and get a good result.

They are absolutely fine in a casual/pickup game if you run them shooty. T5 and a 5+++ works wonders against middling anti infantry firepower and plasma/blight launchers are ok for their cost.

It's upsetting they are not getting looked at in Faith and Fury though!!!!

They were also one of the big players in the Vigilus campaign and didn't get any specialist detachments, why do you hate your gross children, GW, why?
