I just upgraded to the Series 5 from my Series 3, what's the best way to unload my Series 3 44 cellular to a company? It's pretty much in perfect condition, a few small scratches/dents.

I'm willing to take a hit just to not deal with selling it to another individual.

I really liked Apple’s trade in process, but I’m not sure that you’ll get a great value.

I did the same and will probably be using Swappa. I’ve used them with a few phones and no complaints. You get more than trading in to Apple.

Swappa is less money than Craiglists but usually more than eBay and less hassle than both.

You get the money like instantly on Swappa instead of having to wait a month to see anything from eBay.

I had no idea that watchOS 6 finally came out for Series 1 & 2 nearly a week ago. I guess my phone has been trying to download it ever since then, but I haven't remained on wifi for long enough for the ~800MB file to (for whatever ridiculous reason) get piped straight from the phone to the watch in realtime.

I finally gave it the three-or-so hours it needed to update, looking forward to maybe getting one or two new watch faces, and... they suck. :P No complications on either of them, really? Is this Apple trying to gently coax me into upgrading from a Series 2?! (Not gonna lie, I've been waiting to see if the Series 4 go on any deep clearance at big box stores, but no luck yet. I bought my Space Black stainless Series 2 in this manner for like $250.)

gently caress craigslist. The one time I tried to sell a phone, I had 5 flakes that just didn’t show up, and of course the “oh I only brought $250 with me, is that enough for your iPhone XS Max?”

What is the goon sleep tracking app of choice?

Pants Donkey
Nov 13, 2011

Autosleep revamped their app to be way less convoluted so I went back to that.

Sleep tracking isn't backed by any real science, sleep specialists will tell you not to trust the data from any app and to just do common suggestions like "don't look at a screen an hour before bed". It's also been known to trick people into feeling like they haven't gotten good enough sleep just because an app told them they didn't.

I've always thought it was weird that people need an app to tell them if they've gotten a good night's sleep. Maybe I'd think differently if it was linked up to a smart bed that automatically changed the temperature or firmness of the bed throughout the night based on your sleep patterns.

I use it to track resting heart rate, times my rear end goes to bed, and how often I’m getting up. The only behavior it influences is me going the gently caress to bed at a decent hour. There’s some fine broad strokes information there, but I agree that the detailed stuff can be ignored and it’s hardly a necessary health feature. I mean, there’s a reason Apple hasn’t jumped on the bandwagon.

Yeah I’m not saying sleep tracking is currently a great thing (it obviously has its problems) but “lol I don’t get why people would want to see data on how well they slept” is a bad take.

It can be useful to see if you’re tossing and turning or doing weird things in your sleep. I’d probably track mine if there was something inexpensive to do it with that wasn’t my watch or phone.

Dunno, in the end we care about sleep quality which you can probably better measure by asking yourself ‘how rested am I’ in the morning

Yeah I used a sleep tracker for a while until I realized that the info it was giving me was meaningless to me. I know how long I slept. I know whether or not I slept well. And I prefer to sleep without a watch on.

Facebook Marketplace is a good cash-only way to sell phones too. Definitely have to wade through lowballers, but once you make a deal people seem less likely to flake/be a dick since their account is ostensibly attached to their real name and info.

That’s fine till you sleep through it. I’ve taken naps with my watch on and I absolutely sleep through some of the taps.

I don’t think I could trust it.

I've found AutoWake to be genuinely effective at waking me up during times of light sleep and thus improving my wakefullness. And I use AutoSleep because I honestly can't remember over the course of a week how much sleep I've had. It's a good reminder to turn in early at times.

I don't use a sleep tracking watch app but I do own an absurdly expensive smart bed and it does work. I think my husband gets more direct use out of it because he has a tendency to stay up way too late and not think about what time he went to bed. But also you can see if you had a restless night one night and at what times and track back causes, which you can figure out.

It works, I don't know if it is worth spending thousands on a mattress to you but sleep tracking has significantly improved our sleeping.
