To apply for an apartment I had to pay them a $50 that I lose whether I'm approved or not. What's stopping shady rear end slumlords from just taking application fees but never approving people? Please tell me there's laws that prevent that sorta thing

Also most big schools just use the same common online portal for submitting applications but still charge individually, even though 99% of their administrative overhead has been outsourced, lol.

The place was really desirable but the guy told me there were two applicants in front of me and offered to take my application and $35 check anyway saying don’t worry I’ll only cash it if I run your application. Three days later he leaves a voicemail telling me I had insufficient rental history but neither my then current landlord nor the friend I had pretending to be my previous landlord (had lost the old landlord’s contact info) ever heard from him. Ultimately wasn’t worth figuring out what to do over $35 bucks but I was loving annoyed.

Some quick google quote:Surfactants are mostly used to decrease the surface tension between any two liquids or a solid and a liquid in the form of emulsifiers, detergents, wetting agents, dispersants, or foaming agents. They find application in several end-use industries such as petroleum, pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and cosmetics. and it's most likely a waste products from these purposes judging from the existing industry in india https://www.cesio.eu/index.php/applications/industrial-uses quote:Textile and fibre industries Couple that with some other toxic chemicals as waste products that wasn't reprocessed to minimize toxicity before dumping it into the river and voila, you've got yourself some death snow.

In other news, two children were taken away by CPS because their single father was arrested for possession of a shopping cart today. The police officers accompanying the social workers shot both beloved family dogs in front of them 26 times each, believing one of them had a concealed weapon.

Sanders is the step 1 of part 1 of subsection 1 on the road to Utopian communist society and if we gently caress this political moment up it's going to be that much harder to avert gigadeath* and start on making things better. * we can shoot for this post climate death, but it'd kinda be a mixed bag to build utopia on a planetary graveyard

I knew universities were an incompetently run grift when I went to school but now that I actually work in University Admissions I can confirm that it’s all worse than I ever imagined I mean it’s a better work environment than the private sector and I prefer the culture but it’s unbelievably predatory and parasitic
