Can anyone recommend a DNA testing kit? I mainly want to know if I’m 100% East Asian or like 1/16 European. I don’t think I’ll get much in the way of genealogy since they kept poor records in my place of birth.

Not quite (although I'm considering that for putting together the final showdown from The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly). But if I can pull it off, this one will be cast in clear resin and turned into a sphere as a Christmas ornament.

I'm going to be honest, I don't really trust those DNA kits that you mail in because DNA sequencing is really expensive/time consuming and the fact they only charge you like $50 for it means they get money by just straight-up selling your DNA information to every single insurance company. So then they can claim everything is a pre-existing condition because they have your DNA that shows you're predisposed to whatever in your family.

Just do what I did & have your sibling do the DNA test. Now I know there's a genetic disposition for addiction that runs in the family!

Tickets to this in Boston. I've stayed clear of concerts for a few years because I'm losing my hearing for a variety of reasons (largely due to dozens of these concerts) but House of Blues Boston is probably the sickest venue in New England and this will be a nice throwback double header. I guess I should also research concert earplugs..

Yeah there were some triplets recently that all sent their DNA in independently and each of them came back with different ancestry percentages.

I'm mostly just messing around. But yeah, that's certainly a thing people do. It looks like there's a range of bodies to choose from but they're nowhere near as customized as the heads. I think you either end up with weird proportions (see skinny McClane below) or spending many, many hours sculpting: couldcareless posted:This is more amazing than anything I could have come up with.

DNA sequencing got cheaper twice as fast as Moore's law between 2005 and 2015, it's all cheap as hell now. Obviously not as society changing as computers getting cheap, but you're in the position of the 1980s person looking at a year 2000 computer

I also didn't know that extending the seat back all the way up is intended to reset it. I would traverse it through the ratchet and it would drop free, I thought it was broken. After filing an RMA and leaving a bad review, I found out that you're supposed to leave it in the ratcheting zone and extending it past that zone is to let you start over.

Various Walmarts in the US are accidentally putting the Arcade 1up Street Fighter cabs on clearance for $70 bucks and I got one, and then like another $200 on parts as I'm gutting and drilling this thing to death. You can do it with basically any of these machines but the SF cab already has plenty of buttons so I won't need to drill too much. Always said when I bought a house I'd get my own Simpsons machine and it turns out it's super easy to shove Rasp Pi in these things. Gonna be a fun little weekend project. Bunch more other parts and wires. There's a guy online that cuts basically any arcade cabinet vector into precut sizes for these machines and this turned out to be the most expensive part lol. Final product will hopefully look something like this Using this tutorial: https://youtu.be/09DQCOr6zQM
