legit as many people in that bojo campaign pic as there were in the pissy down weather of walsall north's 11am canvassing session today. the prime minister of the united kingdom in uxbridge got as many to turn out to campaign as a brand new candidate in a massively underprivelleged constituency despite having 10k more constituents and a 10% more politically engaged constituency.

I think the honest approach works, the tories have been pissing about with it for years and their brexit campaign was a lot of bollocks, promising everything to everyone, with labour you'll know exactly what you're getting when it comes to the second referendum and they will go through with it if it wins again. You could also consider saying that you'll give it a fair shake in the next referendum, so you don't come off as hardcore remain. There's a lot of legit criticisms you can make about the first referendum even from a pro brexit angle. And you can say that a labour brexit that protects jobs and is followed with a big investment in british industry to make us a world leader again in stuff people will really need in the coming century, that's a sell imo.  I think that's actually a reserve fuel tank, not a poppy bomb alas, but it's still a bit weird  Generally if it's a bomb it should have fins on the back, drop tanks are just aerodynamic. Goddamnit why my constituency as well, just makes me have to deal with libdem bullshit even more. I’m already fed up with the stupid amount of junk mail and obvious lies and deceit for gain. I’ve been in hospital this week and my girlfriend checked the mail, 7 different pamphlets in 5 loving days. They’re really pushing to have the Jewish community side with them based on the canvassing they’re doing around Finchley/Golders/st johns wood etc. I’m just genuinely sick of the whole antisemitism circus blowing out of proportion and detracting from literally every other loving problem this election cycle represents. Yeah I had this discussion while out canvassing today about what's best to do if you are canvassed, I was supporting wasting as much time as possible and feeding them incorrect information but another person was saying they'd prefer to demoralise the canvasser so I guess it's hard to decide the best course of action to take.

This hurt countries like the GDR massively as the prices of food and heating went up - the period of Honeckerian "consumer socialism" would stall and never return. Poland erupted in general strike that crippled its exports even further. Still, these countries were still paying far below the world price of oil for what oil they did get, and it did remain a major source of hard currency for themselves (the GDR continued to re-export Soviet oil to the FRG for hard currency even as it struggled to keep energy supplies running in winter; the goods hard currency imported were too critical for political stability), and the Soviet Union racked up a huge trade surplus vis-a-vis the rest of the bloc even as the entire bloc built a trade deficit with the rest of the world. quote:In 1974 the USSR would give Hungary a million tons of oil in exchange for eight hundred Hungarian buses. It is true, by the by, that the initial waves of dissidents wanted successful socialism with a human face, not to overturn the entire communist system. But later waves of protest took it beyond the samizdat intellectuals and into the street. The assorted communist parties, even those embracing reform, could not sustain continuing to oppose free elections and could not win free elections if held.

e: ^^ she has, which sucks, but she's decided to weaponise it against Labour which also sucks and is bad for other victims of such abuse. My advice for dealing with LD/Tory canvassers is ask them to justify specific Tory/austerity horrors in detail and take up as much time as possible.

Sure I’ll give her that, but reiterating the same thing over and over when it’s convenient to twist the knife into labour and promote your own agenda of deceit is bollocks. If she did it in more of a conceit way rather than “oh woe is me x1000” tactic all the time I might exhibit a little sympathy but this entire antisemitism row is getting ridiculous at this point. It’s the using it for gain that bothers me the most, as if to say it doesn’t really affect her but is a really useful tool for her to make sure she and the libdems can keep their finger on the pulse and try to stay relevant whilst canvassing in this area. Without all of this she’d be totally irrelevant and no one would give a gently caress.
