Yeah, I mean the Blade Runner soundtrack included a bunch of sampled dialogue and I’m sure there are earlier examples than 1982.

The Blade Runner soundtrack didn't even get released until after Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction really made that a "cool thing" in the 90s.

I think, when looking at TR's previous stuff like Natural Born Killers and Lost Highway, those were done in a very deliberate, collage-style, artful way. They also benefited from having the dialogue written by Tarantino and Lynch. This thing on the Watchmen soundtrack is completely artless, just dropping 2 minutes of a pretty hacky, corny and clumsy thing the show presented onto its own track-- no music at all. The fact that it's also contains white supremacist rhetoric is the poo poo cherry on top.

Well then sir I challenge you to listen to the soundtrack and justify gerryowens being included at all. This isn't about sampling vocals. I haven't watched the show but I have to imagine there was something better he could put there than a guy talking about black filth

Obviously that was put in to get the otherwise hard to win white supremacist audience for the album. Really looking forward to hearing that track sampled in some uncomfortable contexts for the next zillion years.

Trent coming along must have made that real estate agents' entire year. Most people don't want to buy 'tainted' property like that. A lot of times they just demolish the house and build a new one on the same spot.

I believe the intended interpretation of the soundtrack is that it's created by The Sons of the Pale Horse or whatever.

Revolver mag did a meta (faux?) review: https://www.revolvermag.com/music/review-sons-pale-horses-book-rorschach-still-mess

Trent also retweeted (seems gone now) that one of his local record stores already had the album, signed by the "band" members, in their used bargain bin.

Also this retweeted by the official NIN account:
https://twitter.com/digital__junkie/status/1191504165333274627?s=19

So I guess we're supposed to think of it like that message is part of an agenda the fake band is pushing?

Trent just rented the place, it was demolished and replaced with a new house right after he moved out. However, the guy who owned it when the murders happened moved in like three months after the murders and lived there for 20 years.

People on ETS and the subreddit are reporting having received free (signed!) copies of the as of yet unreleased With Teeth Definitive Edition vinyl with recent orders made at NIN.com.

So I guess we might be able to expect at least that being announced soon.

Is the original version out of print or something? Is there any reason to buy this if you already own the original? I didn't think the album needed remastering

Just looked up my press, and it looks like it was only pressed once and is hella expensive. This kind of makes me want to offload mine. https://www.discogs.com/Nine-Inch-Nails-With-Teeth/release/457869

I expect used prices will drop now. I bought it for like 25 bucks when it came out, it's mind blowing how the price has skyrocketed (same with demon days and a lot of other mid 2000s albums)

The backwards guitar loop is nearly physically painful to my ears. And it's like half (or more) of the song. Once it flips back to normal the song's alright.

It does kind of sound like when the car window is open and it is throbbing/beating rapidly until you close it. There must be a actual term for that but it's a little unpleasant.
