You know I'm suddenly starting to realize that I think Yujiro is just an anarchist. He hates the military, the government, approves of civil disobedience. If he wasn't so busy working out all the time he'd probably be pushing for socialism. Fighting armies is praxis. Edit: "Every billionaire is a policy failure" says Yujiro just before ripping Jeff Bezos in half like a phonebook. Glagha fucked around with this message at 01:20 on Nov 2, 2019 |

Unfortunately Yujiro hasn't quite gotten a handle on idioms yet so he ends up literally eating the rich.

They should just get it on and have Yujiro and his son conquer the world. The story arc after that could have aliens invading who love to fight Zzulu fucked around with this message at 12:21 on Nov 2, 2019 |

You say that, and that was probably true at some point because Yujiro has been kind of inconsistently written, but he explicitly declared his respect for Muhammad Ali for refusing the draft and there's a bit about people looking up to him as a hero because he was off fighting warlords and stuff, inadvertantly protecting the common people suffering under them. I dunno it's kinda unclear, because he's explicitly been shown declaring his disdain for the weak and how he can do whatever he wants because he's the strongest, but then he's telling Muhammad Ali how cool he is for standing up to the government during the civil rights movement. Yujiro is a man of contrasts. (Who really likes murdering people with his bare hands)

Ali standing up against his whole country is the kind of poo poo Yujiro loves.

Dorian is so hilarious in the anime. He goes from being a murderous psychopath to feeble old man back to murderous psycho yet people keep falling for it.

Reading grappler baki and watching the netflix anime at the same time is kinda weird, the power levels are different. The only prisoner from the states is a black person, I guess that part was realistic. Also Oliva's awesome lol.

the bit where yujiro talks to ali about civil rights is so out of place for his character and insane. itagaki is not a good writer. but i still love baki

I think there's been a definite softening of his character over the series. He has a sort of weird code of honor now. He seems much less likely to just randomly murder someone except if you're dumb enough to raise a hand against him or not stay down when he gives you the chance.

Ali chose to fight his country which is the ballsiest thing you can do if you're yujiro it's entirely within character

Yeah, right from the beginning it's been clear that the one thing Yujiro consistently respects is ballsiness. He might still kill you, e.g. when he killed Baki's mom, but he'll respect you while doing it.
