one time I listened to a Dave Barry book on tape that I checked out from the library and for some reason it was read by Shadoe Stevens which was really incongruous also it turns out Shadoe Stevens pronounces "advertisements" the British way, with the stress on the second syllable, even though he's from North Dakota

I got to meet Dave Barry in person for winning a write-alike contest and he is legit super nice and awkward in person one of those rare instances of the guy actually matching his work

dave barry does japan had me laughing nonstop as a kid. especially the part where he goes to the japanese baseball game and one teams fight song is the mickey mouse club song and the other is popeye the sailor man or something
