It would be pretty bad storytelling to be in a simulation at this point, you'd have to leave out some pretty critical things happening offscreen. I think that Thorsby knows better, especially after what is possibly the best payoff for a seemingly unbeatable antagonist I've ever seen.

Did we previously see someone operating the catapult? As far as I know "snicker-snack yoink" returns the closest weapon someone is holding, so I assume for the purposes of the spell there must've been someone from whom the catapult was taken? I think the idea is that the spell works like, "give me the weapon nearest to the one I'm aiming at", and tricking her into thinking there's a weapon to aim at when there isn't caused it to default to the most similar object in Trixie's vicinity.

Yep, didn't see that one coming. I mean, I knew it'd backfire somehow, but I expected a cheap divorce snake or something, and then when that didn't happen I figured now would not be the time. Thorsby is the best.

The definition of the spell was just "summons the nearest weapon to your hand", it doesn't have to be one that someone else was already holding.
