Is there specific name for the art style the new spongebob movie uses? It's like a combination of 2D and 3D CG and I like it a lot.

I think the faux-claymation is a neat look, although it doesn't really fit with what the rest of the franchise has been. Whenever I see newer Songebob, it just feels kinda bad. Like the artists working on it now chafe under the old style, they seem like they want to break out of it, and the writing and jokes don't acknowledge or know how to deal with the fact that it's set underwater. The show has gone on too long. Also Camp Coral is going to be making GBS threads on a dead man's grave, so there's that.

That was what really made me stop watching Spongebob. Squidward's depression as the show kept abusing him got too much for me. Weirdly I looked at a couple earlier episodes the other day, and there's these episodes with morals about not taking jokes too far or getting too obsessive that are sort of the inverse of the show's later attitude.

It often is pretty hilarious ("Ultraclops" is my favorite episode); I just feel like after a while they've been going to that well a bit too often, especially since so many episodes seem to involve Mao Mao walking a hundred miles just to learn a lesson about basic human decency or common sense — and then the other half actually involve a semi-complicated lesson like "you should de-escalate situations instead of escalating them for laughs."

It's neat that Infinity Train is getting a new season, but they explained just about everything in the last season, so it'll be weird for it to lack so much of the mystery angle. Kinda reminds me of how Over The Garden Wall was originally planned as a full series with Wirt and Greg looking for a book so the devil would take them back home, but the miniseries was complete enough and buttoned up all the characters and their issues, adding more would basically require starting over from scratch, despite how much I'd like more.
