He's one of those scifi writers who came up with fantastic concepts but wasn't always able to execute them successfully. Also he was crazy as gently caress and high as a kite like all the time.

You've definitely seen a movie (or twelve) based off of his works even if you've never read a single one of his books. Guy was massively influential.

This was true where I grew up in NC. The specific area I'm thinking of has blown up into fancy retail in the last 20yrs so most of the black ones are probably gone now

When I meet a new white person and describe generally where I live, most ppl ask "is that closer to the white Food Lion or the Mexican Food Lion," the latter has 2 aisles of international selections. They're maybe 1.5 miles apart and the next one isn't for 15 miles in any direction.
