The great thing about the thousands of slaughtered Palestinian children is that they can't pull away when you fondle them or sniff their hair.

That's a Biden success story.

Amazon's "retail" model is totally robber baron predatory evil and it deserves some very serious trust busting attention ASAP.

Quite a lot of the money they make is creating platforms that support other businesses. Thier cloud services (where they actually make money) is a good example. The retail business lets them develop other categories of services and platforms they can sell.

A good way to think of it is this thier retail busines generates technologies, processes, and supply chain solutions they can sell to other companies. That's where the money is.

Amazing. Just Amazing. He...he does know that those women and men all died right?
Want to feel even worse?

There's a fair amount of research that the Salem Witch Trials were the result of the Puritan colonists looking for scapegoats to explain why the Massachusetts colony was losing the war against the Native Americans in modern day Maine. The Puritan colonists believed they were literally on a mission from God, that they were destined to prosper thanks to how God blessed them and their endeavors. And at the start, they were doing very well. With help from the local Wompanog tribe they survived the first few years, many of those Wompanogs converted to Christianity (further proof of God's Grace) and the Massachusetts Colony was founded using a word from the language family close to the Wompanog language. Things were good.

Then Massachusetts colonists tried to expand into Maine. The local Native Americans did not want the colonists to expand into their land, and there were attacks in both directions. After the Colonists lost a town of 100 people in Maine, people back in the colonial capital of Salem were trying to find out why they lost. Remember, everything was examined through the lens of Puritanism. Their God-given right to expand into Maine was not proceeding as planned, and there must be a religious reason. The reason can't be that local Native Americans didn't want the Colonists to be there and were actually good at protecting their land, it must be something religious.

They decided that The Adversary was stopping their expansion. You know, Satan. And Satan could only perform his evil deeds with a human element, the Witches. Who were the Witches? At first they were people who weren't fully supporting the expansion into Maine. Then it turned into people using accusations of witchcraft to settle old disputes. These are the trials most people hear about, with the whole "I saw Old Lady Prynne walking along the trail talking with Satan" stuff

The trials started in Salem Massachusetts because Maine colonists were repelled by the Native Americans protecting their home against immigrants that wanted to impose their way of life.

Happy Thanksgiving.

I drove through my hometown the other day after not visiting it for several years. It was a tiny place of probably 500 people but from the count I did driving around just under half of the houses are either burned down or straight up abandoned, full of trash with doors and windows broken out. The store closed at some point, as did the hardware. The only businesses left running are the bar, the funeral home and the grain elevator. Lots of Trump 2020 flags hanging from the remaining houses though.

It goes beyond retail. Every single thing that runs on a supply chain is just in time.
My management just stonewalled a deal I closed because I’d have a couple grand extra inventory left over that can’t be immediately liquidated into sales.

There’s this massive corporate demand across the board to maximize GMROI to the point that it makes zero sense to do it in some cases but they’ll slap your hand with a wooden spoon if you don’t follow that orthodoxy.
The problem is any time teamsters so much as breathe a word of strike it causes the entire industry to fall into a panic.

I’d love nothing more than to see a mass general strike by all the teamsters unions across North America to demand better working conditions and pay in solidarity with working class Americans (and Canadians).

Congress would convene a special session to force everyone back to work within 3 days.
